ServeRAID M1000 Series Advanced Feature Key Quick Install Guide Thank you for purchasing the ServeRAID M1000 Series Advanced Feature Key The ServeRAID M1000 Series Advanced Feature Key enables support for RAID 5 configurations and self encrypting disks SED on the ServeRAID M1015 SAS SATA controller The ServeRAID M1000 Series Advanced Feature Key mounts directly to the controller using the J1 2 pin connector Figure 1 shows the Advanced Feature Key Figure 1 Advanced Feature Key UY Please take a few minutes to read this Quick Install Guide If you need more information about any topic covered in this guide refer to the documents on your ServeRAID M Support CD 85060 00 Attention It is important to back up any data before you make a change in system configuration Failure to do this could result in data loss INSTALLING THE SERVERAID M1000 SERIES ADVANCED FEATURE KEY ON THE SERVERAID M1015 SAS SATA CONTROLLER Perform the following procedures to install the ServeRAID M1000 Series Advanced Feature Key directly to the ServeRAID M1015 SAS SATA controller Step 1 Turn off the computer and unplug the power cords from the rear of the power supply Step 2 Remove the cover from the computer according to the instructions in the system user s manual so you can access the controller Attention When handling static sensitive devices take precautions to avoid damage from static electricity
