Cool Down Time Limit You can limit how long a user cools down after exercising on the EFX by entering a time between 0 and 5 minutes Important It is recommended that you set the cool down period at or above three minutes It takes time for a user s heart rate to return to a resting state after vigorous exercise An effective cool down period also reduces the amount of lactic acid in muscle tissue 9 At the SET COOL DOWN TIME prompt use an arrow key to cycle through the available time limits Choose between 0 and 5 minutes The default setting is 5 minutes 10 When you are ready press ENTER to save your changes and return to the Precor banner If you prefer to exit the program without saving your changes press RESET Product Owner s Manual Club Features Informational Displays The EFX provides information about its use odometer and hour meter as well as software version error log and serial number In general you would only access this information if directed to do so by Precor Customer Support These instructions guide you through all the informational displays Pressing the ENTER key moves you through the displays To exit press the RESET key at any time Viewing the Odometer 1 At the Precor banner press the following keys in sequence and without pause RESET ENTER QUICKSTART The numbers 6 5 appear on the display as you press the associated key The odometer value the number of cumulative strides

ERROR LOG appears on the display followed by the first entry in the error log if there are any errors Up to ten error codes can be retrieved If there are no errors in the log you will see three dashes displayed To view any additional error codes in the error log use the arrow keys The following Table 1 describes key functionality within the error log Key Description v Displays the most recent error log entries A Reveals earlier log entries SELECT Toggles between the error log the odometer reading and the hour meter values at the time the error occurred a title i e STRIDES or HOURS appears briefly followed by the actual numeric value associated with the error log Table 1 Keys used in viewing error log entries 10 Copy the error code information to paper so you can provide it to Customer Support if needed Be sure to copy it exactly as shown 12 11 When you no longer need the information in the error log press QUICKSTART for at least four seconds to delete the error log Continue to maintain light pressure on the key as the prompt CLEAR appears Once the prompt OK is displayed you can release the key Important You cannot retrieve the error log once you have deleted it You may want to resolve any issues you are experiencing with the EFX before clearing the error log When the error log is cleared 1 appears in the display indicating that the error messag

11. pin Using the Stationary Handrails To maintain your balance always grasp a stationary handrail when you step on or off the foot pedals and when you use the keypad To learn more about the touch sensitive handrail grips refer to Heart Rate Features Moving Handlebars Support the Total Body Workout The handlebars on the EFX534i provide an upper body workout which helps increase cardiovascular fitness By adding the total body movement to your cross training workout you are actually increasing your work effort and enhancing your overall fitness level A variety of hand positions can intensify the effectiveness of your workout Review the information on the Precor web site www precor com for customized workout routines User s Reference Manual EFX Features Storing Workout Statistics Some facilities connect the EFX to a computer so you can easily retrieve your workout statistics and determine how well you are meeting your fitness goals If you are interested in maintaining workout statistic information ask the facility personnel to create a user account and a user ID for you A user ID entry is required to store your workout statistics If the display is blank begin pedaling Maintain a pedaling speed above 40 strides per minute If five zeros appear on the display the EFX is connected to a computer If the Precor banner appears the EFX is not connected to a computer Note When the optional power adapter is attached and
12. the Keypad Use the keypad to features in each column e Control your workout session e Answer prompts prior to starting a program e Determine which display features appear e Prematurely end a program e Adjust the resistance or ramp incline More Information about the Center Display During an exercise session the program profile is affected by the arrow keys The profile raises or lowers according to which arrow key A or V is pressed Note In the EFX534i programs the resistance setting affects the column height in the program profile The workout statistics which appear on the display are described on the following pages Column 1 TIME STRIDES STRIDES MINUTE and CALORIES TIME displays workout time in minutes and seconds however when you exceed 60 minutes during a single workout the TIME display converts to hours and minutes For programs with a workout time limit the TIME display shows the amount of time remaining For programs without a workout time limit the TIME display indicates the amount of time you have been exercising STRIDES shows the total number of strides completed which is always an even number since two strides create one complete revolution of the flywheel A stride is an exaggerated walking movement On the EFX if you start in a position with one foot pedal forward a stride is completed when you move the rear foot pedal all the way forward while the other foot pedal moves to the rear Us
