Dear 2006 2009 Azera Owner This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act Hyundai has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model year 2006 through 2009 Hyundai Azera vehicles produced during the period beginning Septem ber 27 2005 through October 1 2008 Federal law requires that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days What is the problem Repeated use of the right front seat belt may cause damage to the seat belt tension sensor wir ing If the seat belt tension sensor wiring becomes damaged the Air Bag warning lamp in the instrument cluster will illuminate to indicate that a problem exists in the air bag system If the seat belt tension sensor wiring harness is damaged the passenger air bag will not deploy if a crash of sufficient force to require front air bag deployment is experienced which may increase the risk of injury to the front passenger What will Hyundai do We are asking you to schedule an appointment to take your vehicle to your Hyundai dealer For vehicles that experience illumination of the Air Bag warning lamp in the instrument cluster as a result of damage to the seat belt tension sensor wiring the Hyundai dealer will replace the right front seat belt assembly and install a new seat belt tension sensor wiring harness clip For veh

3. ensor Wiring Harness TSB 10 01 008 Hyundai Motor America is conducting a Customer Notification to repair the Front Passenger Seat Belt Tension Sensor Wiring Harness on certain 2006 2009 Model Year Azeras produced from the start of production to October 10 2008 In order to identify only those vehicles affected by Campaign 094 it will be necessary to access Hyundai Motor America s Warranty Vehicle Information screen via WEBDCS before starting the repair The Warranty Vehicle Information screen will identify affected vehicles with an open Campaign 094 The Dealer Letter Customer Letter and Technical Service Bulletin 10 01 008 will be posted on Hyundai s Website on February 15 2010 Each dealer will receive a supply of the BTS Wire Harness Clips which is identified in the Technical Service Bulletin Additional clips can be ordered from your Facing PDC Replacement of the Front Passenger Seat Belt pre tensioner assembly will require dealers to place an SPL order for the specific colored part based upon the Vehicle s interior color Deal ers must contact Hyundai s Techline at 1 800 325 6604 with the following information to release the parts order Vehicle Identification Number full 17 digits Repair Order Number and Repair Order Date Parts Order Number use last 7 of the applicable VIN and a qty of 1 Parts Order should be VIN specific Part Number ordered Customer notification letters will be mailed in weekly flight

5. ing bolt cover L and then unfasten the bolt 3 Disconnect the BTS wire harness connector Page 8 of 11 4 Remove the seat belt pretensioner lower anchor mounting bolt amp spacer M from the anchor N 5 Pull the BTS wire harness off the guides O CAUTION Use caution so that the wire protection is not damaged 6 Remove the BTS wire guides In the photo to the right the guides have been already removed Page 9 of 11 ED HYunne Technical Service E en 10 01 008 7 Fit the anchor mounting bolt and spacer into the lower anchor 8 Fasten the lower anchor bolt according to the instructions below Tightening torque 4 0 5 5 kgf m 28 9 39 8 lb ft Insert the BTS wire harness through the slot hole on the left of the lower anchor bolt hole P Place the BTS wire harness below the spacer Q as shown in the picture and then fasten the lower anchor bolt 9 Fit the newly supplied clip J to the male connector S of the BTS wire harness and reconnect the connector 10 Install in reverse order of removal 11 Set digital clock time Page 10 of 11 12 Check for proper operations of seatbelt 13 Check for DTC s 14 Set radio stations WARRANTY INFORMATION OP Code OP Name OP Time i 916067 RU seat belt and BTS wire fixing clip replacement U4 MA 9156067 R1 BTS wire fixing clip replacement 0 3 MH NOTE Submit claim on Campaign Claim Entry Screen
