6. ems White and colorfast items that require ironing Polyester acrylic blends rayon acetate Washable silk and nylon Third 11 CARE AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS The tumble dryer does not require special care To best ensure a long life however certain precautions are recommended see page 3 CLEANING THE LINT FILTER You should clean the lint from the lint filter before every load To do this follow the instructions below 1 Remove the filter from its holder by pulling it upwards 2 Open the filter and gently run your hand across it to collect the lint If you prefer you can clean it with a soft brush 3 Replace the filter into its holder NOTE If you use dryer sheets the filter should be washed periodically with a mild soap and water to remove any small particles that may have col lected in the holes CLEANING THE CONTROL PANEL WARNING Before performing the operations described below make sure that the power is off and the unit is unplugged To clean the control panel use only a warm damp cloth To prevent penetration of liquid into the door lock and electrical components never spray water or cleaning solvents on the control panel Also never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on the outer surfaces because they will scratch the finish and could remove the writing on the control panel Some paper towels may also scratch the finish CLEANING THE EXHAUST DUCT About once a year you should remove the

8. exhaust duct and clean it At this time you should also clean the exhaust outlet on the machine and the ventilation duct Periodically you should check the dryer exhaust outside to be sure the air flow is strong and nothing is blocking the vent 12 TROUBLESHOOTING Before calling for technical assistance check that the operations described below have been carried out correctly This will save both time and money The machine won t start Make sure the indicator light is on Make sure the door is closed securely Make sure you pressed the START button Check that you set the program or time correctly Check that the electric plug is securely in the socket Check the house breaker fuses ENGLISH The machine takes too long to dry my laundry Check that the lint filter is clean m Ifyou use dryer sheets may need to wash the lint filter with warm water and a soft brush to clean any blocked holes Be careful not to overload the dryer because the warm air needs sufficient room to circulate properly and the clothes need room to tumble freely The laundry should only be damp when it comes out of the washer If it seems too wet try using a faster or longer spin cycle m Make sure the outside vent exhaust is not blocked My clothes are coming out wrinkled You should remove the clothes as soon as the dryer signals the end of the cycle Dry heavy fabrics together and light fabrics together Dry only permanent

11. on the right of the dial are for cottons and linens The programs on the bottom are for synthetics You can also set a Timed Dry program on top left of dial for 60 40 or 20 minutes NOTE The dryer will not start unless the door is closed securely and there are no items caught between the door and the rubber gasket START BUTTON After you have select the desired program and temperature option and heard the beep press this button to start the machine The power must be on before you can start a program INDICATOR LIGHT AND END OF PROGRAM TONE When you press the On Off button the indicator light below the program knob comes on and stays on during the program At the end of the program the light flashes and an end of program tone sounds to indicate the program is complete This continues until the door is opened or the program knob is turned to the 12 00 position COOL DOWN Every program ends with a cool down cycle that is designed to reduce wrinkling This means the clothes will be cool when you remove them from the dryer rather than scorching hot After the cool down cycle ends the light flashes and an end of program tone sounds to indicate the program is complete 10 ANTI CREASE o At then end of a program if the knob is not turned to the 12 00 120 position e position or the door is not opened the Anti crease function begins This means that the drum rotates the clothes once every minute PAT TS iii to prevent creases from
12. operly Most importantly you should follow the care label instructions see page 9 Below are some suggestions on how to best sort your laundry for drying Permanent press items should be dried together For the most wrinkle free results when drying permanent press items you should fill the machine only half full These items also should be removed promptly from the dryer and hung up or folded right away Dry heavy fabrics together and lightweight fabrics together Dry fabrics that shed lint chenille terry cloth etc separately from fabrics that collect lint synthetics velveteen corduroy etc Separate non colorfast fabrics from light colored items If the care label says Wash Separately the fabric is likely to lose color excess dye for the first few washings To minimize the possibility of the dye transferring to white or lighter colored items dry new colored garments with items of similar color or alone Bright reds and oranges on cottons are the dyes most likely to transfer colors NOTE Refer to page 3 for a list of specific materials that should never be put in a tumble dryer IMPORTANT Metal items coins nails etc left in pockets sharp buckles or similar items could damage the drum Remove any items of this kind before loading the dryer FABRIC SOFTENER AND DRYER SHEETS We recommend using a liquid fabric softener in the washer s rinse cycle We do not recommend using fabric softener sheets in the d

18. ty of the machine is in doubt do not use it Call your dealer for qualified assistance The dryer can be installed in any room with a hard floor Do not install it on carpeting with heavy pile There must be a ventilation outlet to the exterior for the exhaust duct WARNING This appliance should never be exhausted into a chimney wall ceiling or concealed space of a building Only a metal ventilation grill should be used To install the tumble dryer follow the steps below 1 Remove the outer wrapping and the polystyrene base 2 Move the machine into place 3 Adjust the levelling legs by lifting the front of the dryer slightly and adjusting the feet to the correct height Be careful not to screw the feet down too far and do not use a screwdriver NOTE A badly leveled machine may result in damage to the bearings and premature wear so we recommend that you use a spirit level 4 Connect the exhaust duct to the ventilation outlet see below CONNECTING THE EXHAUST DUCT You will need a UL CSA approved 4 inch ridged metal exhaust duct NOTE Excessive duct and too many bends can impede drying performance We recommend that you cut off any excess exhaust duct and run the duct with as few bends as possible Make any necessary bends as gentle as possible To connect the exhaust duct follow the steps below 1 Connect the exhaust duct to the coupling nut supplied with the dryer See illustration below 2 Turn the coupling tog
