1. Salida de Aire del Propulsi n Compuerta de entrada de 3 Suavemente gire el mango del destornillador hacia la parte trasera del aparato mientras tire hacia ar riba de la compuerta de la entrada de aire del aspirador con su otra mano 4 Sostenga la compuerta de entrada de aire del aspirador abierta hasta que el tubo de aspiraci n quede instalado Entrada de Aire del Aspirador Poste de Retenci n Compuerta pe de entrada rat de aire LY 5 Coloque los ganchos que se en cuentran en el tubo de aspiraci n en el poste de retenci n gire el tubo hasta quedar en posici n Asegure el tubo de aspiraci n gi rando la perilla hacia la derecha hasta quedar ajustado Ganchos 6 Al volver a convertir el aparato en propulsor de aire aseg rese de que la parte ajustada de la com puerta de entrada de aire del aspi rador se encuentre bien fija AJUSTE DE LA BANDA DEL HOMBRO para uso con el aspirador nica mente 41 Sujete el aparato como se ilustra 2 Pasando la banda del hombro sobre su cabeza col quela en su hombro derecho 3 Extienda el brazo izquierdo hacia la perte posterior de la bolsa de as piraci n 4 Ajuste la correa de hombro hasta que la costura entre la bolsa de as piraci n y la correa quede entre el pulgar y el ndice 5 Aseg rese de que el aire circule libremente desde el tubo en forma de codo hasta la bolsa Si la bolsa se encuentra torcide el apa

Upper Vacuum Tube Lower T Vacuum Tube Insert a screwdriver into the latch area on the vacuum inlet cover HTT g Blower Outlet 7 6 Latch Area Vacuum Inlet Cover 3 Gently tilt the handle of the screw driver toward the back of the unit while pulling up on the vacuum in let cover with your other hand 4 Hold the vacuum inlet cover open until upper vacuum tube is installed ar Vacuum Inlet 5 Place the hooks on the vacuum tube on the retaining posts pivot tube into position Secure vacuum tube by turning the knob clockwise until tight 6 When converting back to the blow er feature make sure latch on the vacuum inlet cover is securely fas tened SHOULDER STRAP ADJUSTMENT for vacuum use only 1 Hold the unit as shown 2 Pass the shoulder strap over your head and onto your right shoulder 3 Extend your left arm toward the rear of the vacuum bag 4 Adjust shoulder strap until the vac uum bag shoulder strap seam lies between your thumb and index finger 5 Make sure air flows freely from the elbow tube into bag If bag is kinked the unit will not operate properly OPERATION KNOW YOUR BLOWER READ THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL AND SAFETY RULES BEFORE OPERATING YOUR UNIT Compare the illustrations with your unit to familiarize yourself with the location of the various controls and adjustments Save this manual for future reference Lower Elbow Tube THROTTL

4. tion 8 Allow the unit to run for 30 more seconds at RUN before moving the throttle lever to the position If the engine has not started after 5 pulls at HALF CHOKE repeat the STARTING A COLD ENGINE procedure If the engine still does not start pro ceed to STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE 9 To stop the engine move the throttle lever to the STOP position STARTING A WARM ENGINE 1 Move the throttle lever to the e position 2 Pull the starter handle sharply until the engine starts but no more than 5 pulls NOTE If the engine has not started pull starter handie sharply for 5 more pulls If engine still does not run it is probably flooded Proceed to START ING A FLOODED ENGINE 3 To stop the engine move the throttle lever to the STOP position STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE Flooded engines can be started by plac ing the choke lever in the RUN position Move throttle lever to the fast position then pull rope until engine starts After engine starts move the throttle le ver to the slow position 4 to allow en gine to idle Starting could require pulling the starter rope many times depending on how badly the unit is flooded If the unit still doesn t start refer to the TROUBLESHOOTING TABLE or call 4 800 235 5878 MAINTENANCE CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES CARE amp MAINTENANCE TASK WHEN TO PERFORM Before each use Check for loose fasteners and parts Check for damaged or worn par

59. ver Loosen and remove both screws from the exhaust diverter Remove the exhaust diverter and spark arresting screen Install new spark arresting screen Reinstall exhaust diverter and both screws Tighten screws securely Reinstall muffler cover and 2 screws Tighten securely NOTE If any part of the muffler is cracked broken or damaged we rec ommend that the muffler be replaced AS v eo ar ON 10 SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS We recommend all service and adjust ments not listed in this manual be per formed by your Sears Service Center CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT Carburetor adjustment is critical and if done improperly can permanenily damage the engine as well as the car buretor If you require further assis tance or are unsure about performing this procedure call our customer as sistance help line at 1 800 235 5878 Old fuel a dirty air filter a dirty fuel fil ter or flooding may give the impres sion of an improperly adjusted carbu retor Check these conditions before adjusting the carburetor The carburetor has been carefully set at the factory Adjustments may be necessary if you notice any of the fol lowing conditions Engine will not idle See LOW SPEED MIXTURE ADJUSTMENT L under ad justing procedure Engine dies or hesitates instead of ac celerating See ACCELERATION CHECK under adjusting procedure Loss of power See MIXTURE ADJUST MENT L or H under adjusting proce dure There are t
60. wo adjustment screws on the carburetor The low speed adjust ment screw is marked with the letter L and the high speed adjustment screw is marked with the letter H The throttle lever is used to control engine speed The throttle lever can be placed in one of four positions STOP IDLE or 9 FULL THROTTLE or e and one inter mittent position Primer Button Throttle Lever Adjustment L ADJUSTING PROCEDURE CAUTION Do not force plastic limiter caps on screws beyond the built in stops or damage will occur Initial Settings 1 Turn both mixture screws L and H counterclockwise until they stop 2 Start engine let it run for 3 minutes then proceed to adjust screws ac cording to the instructions below If engine performance at initial settings is acceptable no further adjustments are necessary If engine does not start refer to TROUBLESHOOTING TABLE If still unable to remedy situ ation call 1 800 235 5878 Low Speed Mixture Adjustment L 1 Allow the engine to idle 2 Turn low speed mixture screw L slowly clockwise until the speed be gins to drop 3 Turn the low speed mixture screw L counterclockwise until the speed increases and then staris to drop again 4 Set the low speed mixture screw L at the midpoint between the two positions High Speed Mixture Adjustment H CAUTION Adjust the mixture screw 1 16 of a turn at a time A 1 16 turn is about the width of the slot in the
