PROBLEM System does not respond to entered digits Possible Cause Corrective Action System is not receiving Touch Tones PARTNER Messaging may not be able to interpret Touch Tones while a prompt or recording plays Wait until the prompt or recording finishes before entering the Touch Tones The line is too noisy Have your incoming phone lines checked for noise and have any problems corrected The speakerphone s microphone is on resulting in excessive background noise Mute the microphone or use the handset The Touch Tone signals are not being transmitted to PARTNER Messaging This can occur when calling from a cellular phone because of the variable quality of signal transmission Problems and Corrective Actions 165 6 Troubleshooting System Manager s Quick Reference PROBLEM Unanswered transferred calls ring continuously Possible Cause Corrective Action In some areas the telephone company does not provide a far end disconnect signal This causes the line to remain open even after the caller hangs up 166 Problems and Corrective Actions Assign VMS Coverage to all extensions in the system this is especially important for extension 10 Also make sure VMS Coverage is on at extension 10 at night when no one is around to manually disconnect calls When a call is sent to a voice mailbox for Call Answer Service if PARTNER Messaging detects 15 consecutive second
