Dynamic range refers to the difference between the maximum and minimum levels of the audio soundtrack as measured in decibels dB Compressing the dynamic range raises the minimum signal level and lowers the maximum signal level This allows you to hear voices and other low level audio signals clearly while lowering strong audio signals like the sound of explosions Function Memory Function Memory lets you make a shortcut list of up to five regularly used settings from the Setup screen page By selecting a function from the Function Memory window the appropriate Setup screen menu and function are automatically opened MASTER SLAVE CONTROL MASTER SLAVE control refers to two identical units connected together for joint control The first changer Master receives remote control signals for both units and controls the disc selection audio and video output and information displays of the second changer Slave MPEG Short for Moving Picture Experts Group This is an intemational standard for compression of moving images On some DVDs digital audio has been compressed and recorded in this format Multi angle In a TV or movie studio a single image is usually filmed by more than one camera at the same time and one of those images is selected by the program director and transmitted to your TV Some DVD discs are recorded with the angles of more than one camera used for filming and these can be selected using this changer Thes

The rack may move suddenly and then your fingers may be caught between discs in the rack When changing or inserting discs make sure that the rack is stopped Do not attempt to load a disc into the player when the rack is moving Never insert your hand or any object into the interior This can cause a malfunction Never insert more than one disc at a time into one slot This can scratch or damage the discs Do not apply force to the rack This can cause a malfunction DO NOT MOVE THE UNIT WHEN DISCS ARE LOADED IN THE RACK Moving the changer when discs are loaded may damage the discs and may cause the changer to malfunction WHEN MOVING THE UNIT When changing places of installation or packing the unit for moving be sure to remove all of the discs from the rack and close the changer s hood Then press STANDBY ON and switch the power to standby Check that the OFF indication on the display goes off then disconnect the power cord Moving this unit with the disc rack loaded may result in damage to this unit INSTALLATION e Select a stable place to the side of a TV set or stereo system to be connected to the unit When using the unit with a stereo system install the speakers a little bit away from the TV Do NOT install the unit on top of a TV or color monitor Install the unit away from equipment that may be affected by magnetism such as a cassette deck Do NOT place objects on top of the unit A

MASTER will appear in the display window of the Master played and SLAVE will appear in the display window of the Slave player and the two players will perfom as a single unit Getting both players set up After connections have been made it is recommended to use the Setup Navigator for simultaneous setup of both players Settings made in the Setup Navigator are applied to both players however the settings in the Setup screen are applied to each player separately When Setup screen settings are changed during playback the setting is applied to the operating player Because some settings cannot be changed during playback stop disc playback before attempting to make changes Notes The power of the Slave player is tumed on and off when the M aster player is tumed on and off STANDBY ON on the Slave player will not work The remote control will not operate when it is pointed at the Slave player Point the remote control at the M aster player to control the Slave player The only button that can be used on the Slave player is OPEN CLOSE to open and close the hood on the Slave player When loading discs in the players discs in the M aster player are numbered from 1 to 300 and discs in the Slave player are numbered from 301 to 600 Single loader play on the Slave player is not possible When connecting a commercially available PS 2 compatible keyboard or mouse for text input and other player functions be sure to make c

Skies Matt Jones Eext B Move BEM Input BA Stop If you would like to go back and change either the disc title or artist s name at this time move the cursor control joystick right or left to select the appropriate field and then press ENTER to retum to the text input screen If you would like to change the disc title or artist s name when the text information is already on the disc go to the text input screen from the confirmation screen and input the new text information with a space for the first character The new text information will be stored in memory When all the newly loaded discs in the rack has been registered the system restarts To performing Add Update using controls on the front panel Press UPDATE on the front panel repeatedly until Add Update appears in the display window then press the enter button To proceed to the next disc without inputting text information for the current disc During Add Update if you do not want to input either title or artist information use the cursor control joystick to move the cursor to OK and press ENTER When this is done for both the disc title and artist s name proceed with step 6 in the procedure on the previous page Text information can be input later using the Sub Setup screen Text menu To cancel Add Update Press STOP m When the Add Update procedure is canceled information that has already been input

This is not a malfunction To performing Add Update using controls on the front panel Press UPDATE on the front panel repeatedly until All Update appears in the display window then press the enter button To cancel All Update Press STOP m When the All Update procedure is canceled none of the updated information is retained in memory Inputting and Changing Text Information Disc titles and artist names can be input for all the discs loaded in the changer This information is displayed when the disc is played and is also used when performing searches Input information can be as long as 12 characters using your choice of letters numbers and symbols Characters can be input using controls on the front panel or remote 2 controller and can also be directly input using a PS 2 compatible keyboard or mouse if connections are made to the KEYBOARD M OUSE jack on the front panel Notes e The input text information is not actually stored in the changer s memory until the power has been put in standby If information has been input and the power cord is unplugged orthe main power to the changer is cut the information may be erased Text information cannot be input for the disc in the single loader slot continued 31 When a disc already contain text information When text is already present on the disc in the form of CD TEXT or DVD text the title and artist information appears automatically in the appropriate spa
