Storage Remove mower from tractor for winter storage When mower Is to be stored for a period of time clean it thoroughly remove all dirt grease leaves etc give blades and underside of housing a good coat of grease or rust preventative Store in a clean dry area a Fuel System it is important to prevent gum deposits from forming in essential fuel system parts such as the carburetor fuel filter fuel hose or tank during storage Also experience indicates that alcohol blended fuels called gasoholor using ethanol or methanol can atiract moisture which leads to separation and formation of acids during storage Acidic gas can damage the fuel system of an Engine while in storage To avoid engine problems the fuel system should be emptied before storage of 30 days or longer b Engine O Drain with engine warm oil and replace with clean engine oil see chart on page 15 c Cylinders t Remove spark plugs 2 Pour 29 5mi one ounce of oil through spark plug hole into cylinder 3 Turn ignition key to START position for a few seconds to distribute oil d Replace with new spark plugs d Battery 1 Priorto storage clean terminals and top of battery 2 Disconnect cable from positive side of battery After a period of time in storage battery may require recharging 8 General Cleaning Clean engine battery seat finish etc of all foreign matter f Store in a clean dry area LONG HUB Se FIGURE 46 GEAR SHIFT LEVER NEU
