Map View If you stop during the route guidance If you stop at a gas station or a restaurant during the route guidance your Navigation System remembers your destination and route information When you start your car engine again the route guidance resumes from your current location If you parked off the set route the route guidance resumes when you return to the set route Also the estimated time of arrival or travel time to your destination reappears when you return to the set route 58 Recalculating the Route to Your Destination You can recalculate the route to avoid a traffic jam or road works ahead You can set the length of the area and avoid just that area or you can even search a new route from the current loca tion to your destination On the map screen during route guidance try the following opera tions 1 Press the DETOUR button on the Remote Control 2 Select the distance from the list and click the OK button om 1 mile 3 mile 5 mile 10 mile 30 mile 50 mile On this display you can select the following items Omi km The route from the current position to your destination is recalculated The distance of the detour The route is recalculated avoiding the area the specified 1 50mi km distance ahead of your current position Route calculation starts if you click the OK button Distance of detour can be selected from 1 3 5 10 30 50miles 1 2 5 10 20

21. to DVD The display switches over as you press the button 24 Installing the Program The program is installed to the main unit of the Navigation System using the disc sold sepa rately This is not necessary if your dealer already performed the installation Go to Chapter 1 onward When installing the program you carry out the following operations When all the setup proce dures are completed the map of your surroundings appears and you can use the Navigation System 1 Insert the disc while the car is parked 2 Select the language used for the Navigation System 3 Setting the clock AN Caution If you are using AVIC 90DVD or AVIC 9DVD you cannot restore the condition before a version upgrade once you perform a version upgrade using a version upgrade disc CNDV 21 You should also note that you can no longer use the discs included in the set of this Navigation System 1 Park your car in a safe place Leave the engine on and make sure that the parking brake is on 2 Insert the disc to the main unit of the Navigation System If updating the version from AVIC 90DVD or AVIC 9DVD the installation of the updated program will start immediately A Caution Once the installation of the program starts do not stop the engine of your car and switch off the Navigation System until the installation is completed and the map of your surroundings appears 3 Select YES and click the
