Feed the upper plug connector through the center opening of the housing Align the keyhole slots in the housing with the housing assembly SCrews Turn the housing counterclockwise until the housing assembly screws are firmly situated in the narrow end of the keyhole slots Install the remaining screw into the housing Tighten all three screws firmly A CAUTION Make sure the upper switch housing is securely attached to the switch housing mounting plate Failure to properly attach and tighten all three assembly screws could result in the switch housing fixture falling lI Steps 7 1 7 4 Housing Assembly Upper Screw Switch Housing Lower Switch Housing HONN Assembly Screw 45037 01 11 21 08 Hunter Fan Company 7 Completing Your Installation With a Light Fixture 7 5 To attach the lower switch housing connect the upper plug connector from the motor to the lower plug connector in the lower switch housing assembly Note Both plug connectors are polarized and will only fit together one way Make sure the connectors are properly aligned before connecting them Incorrect connection could cause improper operation and damage to the product 7 6 Place the lower switch housing assembly over the upper switch housing Align the side screw holes in the upper and lower switch housings Attach the lower switch housing to the upper switch housing 7 7 Install a shade onto the light bulb s2. 4. installing the fan e Electric drill with 9 64 bit e Standard screwdriver magnetic tip recommended e Phillips head screwdriver magnetic tip recommended e Wrench or pliers e Ladder height dependent upon installation site Checking Your Fan Parts Carefully unpack your fan to avoid damage to the fan parts Refer to the included Parts Guide Check for any shipping damage to the motor or fan blades If any parts are missing or damaged contact your Hunter dealer or call Hunter Technical Support Department at 888 830 1326 Preparing the Fan Site Before you begin installing the fan follow all the instructions in the pullout sheet called Preparing the Fan Site Proper ceiling fan location and attachment to the building structure are essential for safety reliable operation maximum efficiency and energy savings 4 Installing Multiple Fans If you are installing more than one fan keep the fan blades and blade irons if applicable in sets as they were shipped 45037 01 11 21 08 Hunter Fan Company 2 Installing the Hanger Bracket 2 1 Drill two pilot holes into the wood support structure through the outermost holes in the outlet box The pilot holes should be 9 64 ile Isolator in diameter Note Your fan comes with four pre installed neoprene noise Neg isolators i 2 2 Thread the lead wires from the outlet box down through the hole in the middle of th
5. pin inside the dowrod Loosen the square head setscrew on the adapter to install the pipe and ball assembly Note When the pipe and ball assembly is fully installed 2 3 threads on the pipe will still be visible this is normal Securely retighten the setscrew with a wrench or pliers A CAUTION The adapter has a special coating on the threads Do not remove this coating the coating prevents the downrod from unscrewing Once assembled do not remove the downrod A WARNING Do not carry or lift fan by canopy Raise the fan and place the ball into the hanger bracket Align the notch on the ball with the indent in the hanger bracket Rotate the fan until you hear the notch pop into place Go to 4 e Wiring the Fan A WARNING Fan may fall if not assembled as directed in these installation instructions 6 Steps 3 1 3 3 7 m Downrod lt Canopy with Washer pa Canopy Trim Adapter Ring Steps 3 4 3 5 45037 01 11 21 08 Hunter Fan Company 3 e Assembling and Hanging the Fan Low Profile Only You can assemble your fan for standard or angled mounting as shown in steps 3 1 3 3 on the previous page For low profile mounting ceilings less than 8 feet high see steps 3 6 3 10 on this page 3 6 Remove the screws from the hanger ball bracket 3 7 Place the low profile washer from the parts sack into the canopy 3 8 Place the canopy trim ring and
6. a canopy 5 6 Twist canopy trim ring clockwise to secure the canopy Should you need to remove the canopy trim ring follow these steps 1 Twist canopy trim ring counter clockwise until it releases from canopy Step 5 5 9 45037 01 11 21 08 Hunter Fan Company 6 Assembling the Blades Hunter fans use several styles of fan blade irons brackets that hold the blade to the fan 6 1 Your fan may include blade grommets If your fan has grommets Step 6 1 Detail insert them by hand into the holes on the blades 6 2 Attach each blade to a blade iron using three blade assembly screws If you used grommets the blades may appear slightly loose after screws are tightened This is normal 6 3 Remove the blade mounting screws and rubber shipping bumpers from the motor Note Some blade mounting screws are installed in the motor to secure shipping blocks 6 4 For each blade insert one blade mounting screw through the blade iron and attach lightly to the fan Insert the second blade mounting screw then securely tighten both mounting screws Blade Assembly Use with grommet screws Use without grommet Blade Mounting Screw 10 45037 01 11 21 08 Hunter Fan Company K2 Zal 7 2 7 4 7 Installing the Switch Housing To attach the upper switch housing partially install two housing assembly screws into the switch housing mounting plate

12. ocket 7 8 Screw the locking ring onto the light bulb socket 7 9 Repeat the above steps for the remaining light bulb sockets 7 10 Install three 14W CFL light bulbs 12 _ Steps 7 5 7 6 Lower Switch Housing Housing Assembly Screw Plug p Connector Detail 45037 01 11 21 08 Hunter Fan Company 8 4 The fan pull chain controls power to the fan The pull chain has four settings in sequence High Medium Low and Off Turn on electrical power to the fan 8 2 e Pull the chain slowly to change settings e Release slowly to prevent the chain from recoiling into the blades e The chain uses a breakaway connector that separates if the chain is jerked If this happens simply reinsert the chain into the connector The light pull chain controls the power to the light fixture The chain has two settings ON and OFF Ceiling fans work best by blowing air downward counterclockwise blade rotation in warm weather to cool the room with a direct breeze In winter having the fan draw air upward clockwise blade rotation will distribute the warmer air trapped at the ceiling around the room without causing a draft damage the finish For cleaning finishes use a soft brush or lint free cloth to prevent scratching A vacuum cleaner brush nozzle can remove heavier dust Remove surface smudges or accumulated dirt and dust using a mild deterg
