3. the risk of personal injury and hazards due to over pressurization READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS TOOL 1 KEEP WORK AREA CLEAN Cluttered areas invite injuries 2 OBSERVE WORK AREA CONDITIONS Do not use tools in damp wet or poorly lit lo cations Don t expose to rain Keep work area well lit Do not use electrically powered air compressors in the presence of flammable gases or liquids 3 KEEP CHILDREN AWAY Children must never be allowed in the work area Do not let them handle machines tools or hoses 4 STORE IDLE EQUIPMENT When not in use tools must be locked up in a dry location to inhibit rust Always lock up tools and keep out of reach of children 5 DO NOT FORCE THE TOOL It will do the job better and more safely at the rate for which it was intended Do not use inappropriate attachments in an attempt to exceed the tool s capacities 6 USE THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB Do not attempt to force a small tool or attach ment to do the work of a larger industrial tool Do not use a tool for a purpose for which it was not intended 7 DRESS PROPERLY Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they be caught moving parts Nonskid footwear is recommended Wear restrictive hair covering to con tain long hair 8 USE EYE AND EAR PROTECTION Always wear ANSI approved chemical splash gog gles when working with chemicals Always wear ANSI approved impact safety goggles at other times Wear a full face shield
4. wise clamp the object so that it will not move around when you use the Die Grinder Make sure you still have unob structed access to the area you will be grinding goggles and a dust mask when operating this tool Grip the Die Grinder firmly with your hand To begin grinding press the LEVER 4 Press the LEVER before you touch the Grinding Attachment to the surface Your Die Grinder s speed is variable To vary the speed of the Die Grinder vary the pressure on the LEVER Allow the Grinding Attachment to do the work Do not use excessive force to press the Die Grinder and Grinding Attachment into the surface you are grinding If you put pres sure on the Die Grinder and it stalls immediately release the LEVER and pull the Die Grinder off of the surface SKU 93088 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 8 MAINTENANCE Your Die Grinder is best operated with an Airline Oiler If you are using the Die Grinder without an Airline Oiler follow the steps below for maintenance 1 Disconnect the Die Grinder from the air hose CAUTION Do not use detergent oil or additives as Apply a few drops of PNEUMATIC TOOL these lubricants will cause accelerated OIL through the HOSE ADAPTER 1 be wear ta the seals inthe tool fore each use or every hour if used con tinuously Apply a few drops of oil to the LEVER 4 as shown in Figure 6 Work the LEVER a few times to lubricate Hose Adapter 1 Lever 4

9. ttachment 5 Insert the Shaft of the Grinding Attachment through the flared end of the COLLET as shown in Figure 2 ASSEMBLY To complete assembly you will need to purchase approved grinding attachments from Harbor Freight Tools SKU 93088 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 5 huck Casing 29 Collet Nut 32 ench 44 Figure 3 Wrench Placement Place the small end of WRENCH 44 on the flats of the CHUCK CASING as shown in Figure 3 c hock casing Wik erect 44 Collet Nut 32 Figure 4 Tightening the Collet Nut 7 Place the large end of WRENCH 44 on the flats of the COLLET NUT and tighten as shown in Figure 4 SKU 93088 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 6 Air Connection 1 You will need a Union fitting sold separately before you can connect your Die Grinder to an air compressor 2 Attach the Union fitting to the HOSE ADAPTER 1 and tighten 3 Attach an Air Coupler sold separately to the Union fitting if desired This is a useful ac cessory as it allows quick coupling action when using a variety of tools with the same air compressor 4 Your Die Grinder is ready for use OPERATION Setup Frequent but not excessive lubrication is required for best performance Oil added through the airline connection will lubricate internal parts An automatic airline oiler is recommended but oil may be added manually before every operation or after abo
