11. ates na ed by ions ne he GPS coordinates to a map in the GPS unit should be t to insure the most accurate nate system for the type of map you are using The most common format is latitude and lon gitude which is utilized by all Garmin units On most models you may choose to change the location format to use with other coordinate systems UTM UPS Universal Transverse Mercator Universal Polar Stereographic are easy to use metric grids that are found on most USGS topographic quadrangle maps Several other grids includin user definable grid for the advanced user may also be selected ga Location Coordinates how to edit or assign them No matter where you happen to be on the surface of the earth there is an exact description for your current location called a location coor dinate A location coordinate is the description for any specific location on the earth determined by one of the many ypes of Location Formats When you save any QueMap or QueFind item as a Waypoint location coordinates are automatically assigned using information contained in or Location Format for Que applications or the entry if you know what they are he mapping database either stored in your unit or on the Secure Digital Card Those locations will be displayed in the format set by the factory default settings or the format you have set using the preferences settings When you assign a location to a
