All information contained in this Quick Reference Guide was accurate at the time of duplication We reserve the right to change features operation and or functionality of any vehicle Specification at any time Your Ford dealer is the best source for the most current information For detailed operating and safety information please consult your Owner s Guide P O Box 6248 Dearborn MI 48121 1 800 392 3673 FORD August 2008 First Printing Quick Reference Guide Edge Litho in U S A The front passenger seatback can be folded to a horizontal position to make room for a long load To fold the seatback move the seat as far back as possible Push the head restraint release button and move the head restraint fully down Pull up on the recliner handle located on the outboard side of the seat to fold the front passenger seatback Without releasing the handle push the seatback forward Move the seat as far forward as possible To adjust the second row seatback to the desired position while seated pull the release lever up and push the seatback rearward To fold down the rear seat pull up on the lever on the outboard side of the seat cushion and let the seatback rotate downward into the load floor position To return to the upright position rotate the seatback upward until the seatback latches The seatback will click when it is locked into position The control buttons are located on the left hand rear quarter trim panel access

C gt and set the temperature to 60 F 16 C and the highest blower setting 8 Press amp to recirculate cabin air Recirculated air may reduce the amount of time to cool down the interior of the vehicle and may also help reduce undesired odors from reaching the interior of the vehicle 9 Distributes outside air through the windshield defroster and demister vents to clear fog or thin ice from the windshield 10 Press RUw to clear the rear window of thin ice and fog Press again to deactivate If your vehicle is equipped with both a rear defroster and heated mirrors the same button will activate both 11 Press to activate dual zone mode where the driver and passenger have control of their individual temperature settings Press again to return to single zone where the driver s settings will determine the temperature for the entire vehicle Front wheel drive vehicles have a fuel tank capacity of 19 2 gallons 72 7 L while All Wheel drive vehicles have a fuel tank capacity of 20 8 gallons 78 7L Your vehicle is designed to use Regular unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 Do not use gasoline labeled as Regular in high altitude areas that are sold with Octane ratings less than 87 Do not use E85 fuels that are blended with a maximum of 85 ethanol Your tire pressure is properly set at the dealership according to the recommended specifications found on
3. and road conditions that a conventional two wheel drive vehicle cannot Refer to your Owner s Guide for more information Note If your vehicle is equipped with AWD a Spare tire of a different size other than the tire provided should never be used Using a different size could cause the AWD system to stop functioning and default to front wheel drive Your vehicle is not intended for off road use The panoramic Vista Roof and power sunshades are equipped with an automatic one touch express opening feature To open press and release f The front and rear sunshades will open simultaneously Press kaim again and the panoramic Vista Roof will open to the comfort position Press luigi once more for the roof to fully open To stop the one touch open feature at any time press the control again To close pull k down until the glass panel closes Firmly pull the control again to fully close the Vista Roof Pull and hold the control down again to close the front and rear sunshades To vent from a closed position press TILT To close pull and hold TILT Your vehicle comes equipped with two specially programmed Integrated Keyhead Transmitters IKTs IKTs are both a programmed ignition key and a remote keyless entry transmitter Press Cl once to unlock the driver s door The interior lamps will illuminate Press C1 twice to unlock all the doors Press 5 within three seconds to unlatch and open t

6. 3 Press to activate the front and rear direction signals when your vehicle is disabled and is creating a safety hazard for other motorists Press again to turn off The hazard flashers will operate when the ignition is in any position or when the ignition is turned off 14 Drive with the vehicle in Overdrive D for the best fuel economy You can deactivate overdrive by pressing the transmission control switch on the side of the shift handle Your vehicle is equipped with a special Grade Assist feature which is automatically activated when overdrive is turned off Grade assist helps to provide optimal gear selection and additional engine braking on hilly terrain It is recommended that you return to O D Overdrive once you return to flat terrain To return to overdrive simply press the transmission control switch again AUDIOPHILE AM FM IN DASH SIX CD MP3 SATELLITE COMPATIBLE SOUND SYSTEM if equipped 1 Press to turn on off Turn to increase decrease volume 2 Press to access the previous lt or next gt strong station track or satellite radio channel if equipped 3 Press and hold for a brief sampling of radio stations CD tracks or satellite radio channels Press again to stop In MP3 mode press TEXT to display track title artist name and disc title 4 Press to play all tracks on the Current disc in random order 2 If your vehicle is equipped with SYNC press to access S

M2 CD etc Press to answer a call if equipped with SYNC Press and hold to end a call Refer to your SYNC supplement for more information 10 This light amp illuminates when the fuel cap may not be properly installed If you continue to drive with this light illuminated the Service Engine Soon warning light may come on 11 Your vehicle is equipped with four auxiliary power points One on the instrument panel one in the center console utility compartment one on the back of the center console and a rear auxiliary power point located on the left rear quarter panel Do not use power points over the capacity of 12VDC 180W 12 Your vehicle is equipped with an AdvancetTrac stability system This system focuses on three main areas Traction Control which helps avoid wheel spin and loss of traction Electronic Stability Control which helps avoid skids or lateral slides and Roll Stability Control which helps avoid a vehicle roll over These features work together to help you to maintain Stability and steerability of your vehicle during a variety of road conditions If your vehicle becomes stuck in the snow mud or sand try turning off the AdvanceTrac system to allow wheel spin and help increase momentum to dig the vehicle out The system defaults to on and the control will illuminate when turned off Refer to your Owner s Guide for safety information and more details 1

YNC PHONE features For further information please refer to your SYNC supplement If your vehicle is not equipped with SYNC the display will read NO PHONE 6 Press repeatedly to cycle through the following features among others Autoset Allows you to set the strongest local radio stations without losing your original stored stations Use a v to turn on off When the six strongest Stations are filled the station stored in preset 1 will begin playing If there are less than six strong stations the system will store the last one in the remaining presets Occupancy mode Use a v to select and optimize sound for ALL SEATS DRIVERS SEAT or REAR SEATS SPEED VOL Speed sensitive volume Radio volume automatically changes Slightly with vehicle speed to compensate for road and wind noise Recommended level is 1 3 SPEED OFF turns the feature off and level 7 is the maximum setting Setting the clock Press MENU until SET HOURS and SET MINUTES is displayed Press a y to set the time Satellite radio menu if equipped Press OK and then press a v to cycle through Category Save Song Delete song Delete All Songs and Enable disable alerts Your vehicle is equipped with an Auxiliary Input Jack located inside the console bin This allows you to plug and play auxiliary audio devices including MP3 players Press AUX repeatedly on your audio system to access When LINE IN appears in the display plug in

10. equipped with a reverse sensing system which can warn you if there is a large object behind the vehicle that may be too low for you to see The system will sound a warning tone that increases in frequency as the object gets closer and will sound continuously when the object is less than 10 inches away Refer to your Owner s Guide for safety information and more details Your vehicle is equipped with the S O S Post Crash Alert system This system provides audible and visual alarms in the event of a crash which causes the deployment of airbags or the activation of the safety belt pretensioners The turn signals will flash and the horn will sound To deactivate the system press the hazard flasher control or you can press EJ on your remote transmitter Your new Ford Edge comes with the assurance and support of 24 hour emergency roadside assistance Roadside assistance includes such services as lockout assistance limited fuel delivery battery jump starts changing a flat tire towing and winch out To receive roadside assistance in the United States call 1 800 241 3673 In Canada call 1 800 665 2006 For more information on coverage period and details of service refer to your roadside assistance information Your vehicle may be equipped with All Wheel Drive AWD The AWD system is always active and uses all four wheels to power the vehicle This increases traction enabling you to drive over terrain
11. esults in three swipes with washer fluid while a longer push and hold activates the wash pattern for up to five seconds For better visibility your vehicle will also automatically turn on your headlights if your windshield wipers and auto lamps are on To operate your rear window wiper turn the rear wiper control to 1 intermittent speed 2 normal speed or O off For a rear wash cycle turn the rear wiper control to the Fj position 4 This light y illuminates briefly when the ignition is turned on If it remains on or is blinking after the engine is started the On Board Diagnostics System OBD II has detected a malfunction Drive in a moderate fashion and contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible J The message center displays important vehicle information through a constant monitoring of vehicle systems The system will also notify you of potential vehicle problems with a display of system warnings followed by a long indicator chime Refer to your Owner s Guide for more information 6 The airbag readiness light illuminates briefly when the ignition is turned on If this light fails to illuminate remains on or continues to flash after the engine is started contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible A chime will also sound if a malfunction in the supplemental restraint system is detected 7 The ABS light illuminates briefly when the ignition is turned on If t
12. he power liftgate if equipped Press 4 to lock all doors Press again to confirm that all doors are closed The horn will chirp and the turn lamps will flash Press amp to activate the panic alarm The horn will sound and the turn lamps will flash Press amp t again or turn the ignition on to deactivate the panic alarm CAR FINDER Press amp twice within three seconds The horn will chirp and the turn lamps will flash It is recommended that this method be used to locate your vehicle rather than using the panic alarm Ensure that you keep the IKT adhesive security label in a safe place for future reference Replacement Integrated Keyhead Transmitters are only available through your authorized dealer To open the power liftgate if equipped press ee on the instrument panel or press 5 twice within three seconds on your remote entry transmitter or press and release the control button located on the liftgate To close press eo located on the left rear quarter panel in the rear cargo area or press 5 twice on your remote entry transmitter Keep clear of the liftgate when operating the rear switch Your power liftgate is equipped with an obstacle detection feature which will either stop or revert to a full open position when it encounters a solid object For complete information please refer to your Owner s Guide AVN Your vehicle may ee be equipped with SYNC a hands free communi
13. he ABS light remains on or continues to flash a malfunction has been detected Contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible Normal braking less ABS is still functional unless the brake warning light SEF is also illuminated Pull the lever down to unlock the steering column Move the steering wheel to the desired position While holding the steering wheel in place pull the lever up to lock the steering column 9 To set the speed control press and release ON Accelerate to the desired speed Press and release the SET or SET control Take your foot off the accelerator pedal The speed control indicator light will illuminate in the cluster To set a higher speed press and hold SET until the desired speed is reached or briefly press SET to increase the speed by small amounts To set a lower speed press and hold SET until the desired speed is reached or briefly press SET to decrease the speed by small amounts Press RESUME to return to the previously set speed To turn speed control off depress the brake pedal or press OFF Press VOL to decrease increase the volume Press kad pe to access the previous next preset radio station CD track or preset satellite radio channel Press n to activate the Voice recognition system Refer to your SYNC or Navigation supplement if equipped for more information Press MEDIA repeatedly to scroll through all possible media sources AM FM1 F
14. ible from the liftgate area Press and hold the control to lower the seat The top portion lowers the RIGHT 40 seatback and the bottom portion lowers the LEFT 60 seatback CONTROLS DUAL AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM DATC WITH HEATED SEATS if equipped 1 Press to increase or decrease the temperature on the driver or passenger side of the vehicle Pressing the passenger side control will activate dual zone where the driver and passenger are able to select their own individual settings If the passenger side controls are not activated the driver side controls will determine the temperature setting for the entire vehicle single zone 2 Press to activate automatic temperature control The system will automatically determine fan speed airflow location A C on or off and outside or recirculated air based on your temperature selection 3i Outside air is shut out and the fan will not operate 4 Press once for high heat two lights twice for low heat one light and a third time to deactivate no lights 9 Allows you to manually determine where airflow is directed floor vents instrument panel vents rear seat floor vents or a combination To return to fully automatic control press AUTO 6 Press to display the outside air temperature Press again to return to interior temperature 7 Press to activate deactivate air conditioning For a MAX A C setting press A
