Cleaning the agitator assembly When threads get caughtin the agitator assembly clean the assembly Remove threads caught in the assembly by cutting them with scissors Scissors Threads REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS Caution Be sure to turn the ON OFF switch to the OFF position and disconnect the power cord fromthe walloutlet before replacing any of the parts below REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT LAMP 1 Set the vacuum cleanerto the parallel position AS n 8 J S C Loosen the screws toremove the lens When removing the headlight lamp be careful not to pull on the headlight lamp wiring Remove the lamp by pushing itgently in the direction of the arrow and then turning it counterclockwise Push a new lamp gently into the socket and turn it clockwise to tighten it Usea standard bayonet base appliance lamp rated at 120V and 15W LAMP MAX 15W Caution Be careful not to clamp the headlight lamp wiring Reattach the lens and fasten the screws REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS Caution Be sure to turn the ON OFF switch to the OFF position and disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet before replacing any of the parts below REPLACING THE FLAT BELT Remove the bottom plate refer to page 15 Lift outthe agitator assembly and then remove the flat belt from the motor shaft and the agitator pulley Motor Shaft Hi

OM MAX mark 3 Press the release lever to open the Turn the duster handle several times in the trapdoor r direction shown to empty the dust compartment Release Lever Trapdoor Reattaching the Dust Compartment Close the trapdoorand insert the projection on the 2 Push the dust compartment into dust compartment intothe groove onthe main body the main body as shown to reattach CLEANING THE FILTERS Release Button B 1 Remove the dust compartment referto page 8 Set the dust compartmentto the parallel position Open the trapdoor then push the release button B and pull outthe main filter eThe main filter and prefilter will be removed atthe same time Caution Do not push therelease button B at the upright position As this may drop or damage the main filter and prefilter Clean the main filter and prefilter with a soft bristled brush and rinse with cold water Allow both items to dry completely Caution eDo notuse ahard bristled brush to clean filters This may result in damage to the filters eDo notattempt to dry with a hairdryer orby placing in a clothes dryer Hot air may cause the filters to warp Cleaning utensil To maintain optimum suction power the dustfilter fins should be kept clean of dirt e Clean the filter fins free of dirt with the end of fork as shown Reattaching the filters 1 Insert the main filterinto the Hold onto the main filte

C5 4 Install the wand to the hose e To achieve maximum reach with the attachments attach the crevice toolto the end ofthe wand e Securely and firmly connect the wand to the hose while twisting the wand as shown inthe illustration below e The end ofthe wand which has the marking of should be connected to the hose The upholstery tool amp dusting brush can be attached directly to the wand hose or the end ofthe crevice tool Refer tothe illustration for the correct way to position the upholstery tool amp dusting brush Wands Crevice Tool Ij 73 d Crevice Tool os M gt Tja Wand Upholstery as l is E wass Dusting Brush TJ Crevice Tool CN M Upholstery tool amp Dusting brush To detach the dusting brush from the upholstery tool Press the tabs on the brush downward to remove it To reattach the dusting brush to the upholstery tool Insert the front of the upholstery tool under the hook on the frontof the dusting brush Press down on the back ofthe upholstery tool to snap it into place under the dusting brush tabs EMPTYING THE DUST COMPARTMENT Caution Be sure to turn the ON OFF switch to the OFF position and disconnectthe power cord from the wall outlet before cleaning Empty the dust compartmentwhen Push therelease buttonto removethe contents reach the MAX mark dust compartment Release Button

Flat Belt Holding two ends of the agitator to place the agitator assembly into the grooves by in the nozzle head making sure that the new flatbelt slides securely into the guide Brush Holder I Caution A Install the flat beltso that it has Groove J notwists init and so that all components turn smoothly Reattach the bottom plate refer to page 15 REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS Caution Be sure to turn the ON OFF switch to the OFF position and disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet before replacing any of the parts below REPLACING THE AGITATOR Remove the bottom plate 1 refer to page 15 2 Lift outthe agitator assembly and then remove the agitator assembly as shown Motor Shaft Flat Belt Place the agitator assembly into the grooves inthe nozzle head making sure that the new agitator assembly operate smoothly Brush Holder I Caution ZA Install the flat belt so that it has Groove J notwists init and so that all components turn smoothly 5 Reattach the bottom plate refer to page 15 REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS REMOVING THE BOTTOM PLATE 1 Set the vacuum cleanerto the parallel position and turn it over Pull here Slide the latch in the direction shown

The handle of this vacuum cleanercan be set to one of three positions Upright Normal Parallel Place yourfoot on either one ofthe handle release points as shown andpull back on the handleuntil it releases fromits upright position Handle Release Upright position Normal position The handle is normally locked inthis This position is used for normal cleaning position for storage or when using the i attachments Push the handle forward until it locks Parallel position This position is used for cleaning under furniture EDGE CLEANING This vacuum cleaner is equipped with an edge cleaning function for cleaning carpet edges near baseboards and stationary furniture USING THE ATTACHMENTS aution When usingthe attachments during cleaning set the vacuum cleaner to the upright position Disconnect the hose from the vacuum cleaner Pull the hose gently in the direction of the arrow todisconnect it Hook the hose holderonto the holder mount Caution Before usingthe attachments please make sure the hose is hooked on the holder mount Remove the wands from the Holder vacuum cleaner Mount e Two wands are contained together Pull out the second wand as shown Caution Crevice When removing the attachments pull them inthe directions shown in the illustration Pulling them in the wrong direction or pulling them forcefully may cause damage to the attachment ribs TI 7
