OPERATING MANUAL Model 414 ongratulations on your purchase of Excalibur Electronic s BarMaster BarMaster will show you everything you need to know to mix great drinks from choosing the right cocktails to go with the food and the occasion to preparing them perfectly to serving them in the correct glasses Be sure whenever you drink drink responsi bly and never drink and drive The legendary King Arthur bran dished a magic sword Excalibur from which we take our company name With this unique weapon in his hands he could not be vanquished Although Excalibur Electronics can t claim the magical secrets of Merlin King Arthur s court wizard sometimes our patented technology may make it seem as if we could BarMaster is another unmatched innovation of Excalibur Electronics We make you think BarMaster is easy to use but be sure to use it safely Before start ing please read this manual thor oughly especially noting safety care and battery information Keep this manual for reference Activating the Batteries or Installing New Batteries Carefully turn BarMaster over so that the display side is face down on a soft surface such as a towel or magazine Find the battery compartment on the left of the unit s back See diagram on page 9 Your BarMaster comes with two AG10 batteries already loaded but you must activate them To do this you do not have to remove the bat tery compartment S

3. right to make technical changes without notice in the interest of progress Blood Alcohol Level Calculator VVARNINGI THIS CALCULATOR IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT DESIGNED NOR SHOULD IT BE USED TO ACCU RATELY MEASURE LEVEL OF INTOXICATION CAUTION SHOULD ALVVAYS BE EXERCISED TO LIMIT ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION TO ADHERE TO ALL LOCAL SOBRIETY LAWS AND NEVER TO DRINK AND DRIVE Step 1 On the main menu page use the UP and DOWN keys to high light BLOOD ALCOHOL LEVEL CALCULATOR on the Main Menu and press ENTER Step 2 You will be presented with the warning message given at the beginning of this section Use the DOWN key to read this warning carefully Step 3 When you finish reading the warning press DOWN again and a list of weights from 100 pounds to 240 pounds will be dis played Use the UP and DOWN keys to high light your weight and press ENTER Step 4 The display will give you information regarding what con stitutes one drink Use the DOWN key to scroll to the end of this information and a list of the num ber of drinks will be displayed Use the UP and DOWN keys to high light the number of drinks Press ENTER Step 5 The display will list peri ods of time since the last drink Select and highlight a time and press ENTER Blood alcohol level will be dis played as a percentage Press ENTER again to return to the list of weights to recalculate a dif ferent blood alcohol
4. wish to select and press ENTER Drinks like 7 amp 7 that begin with numbers are found under A For example you can select T to find Tom Collins The drinks beginning with T will be dis played From any letter grouping you can scroll to the letter group ing before and the one after For example from the T s you can scroll up to the drinks beginning with S and down to the drinks beginning with U Step 4 Use the UP DOWN and NEXT keys to highlight the desired drink and press ENTER A new information menu will be displayed CATEGORY GLASS TYPE OCCASION RECIPE TECHNIQUE Step 5 Highlighting one of these categories and pressing ENTER will reveal information about the drink After choosing a category you can return to the above menu by pressing the PREVIOUS button If no button is pressed in approximately four minutes your BarMaster will turn itself off to save batteries To turn it on again press and hold the ENTER key for two seconds Finding Drinks by Category Step 1 On the main menu page use the UP and DOWN keys to high light DRINKS on the Main Menu and press ENTER Step 2 Select CATEGORY from the drinks menu and press ENTER A list of 14 categories will be displayed Although only five lines are displayed at one time you can use the DOWN key to reveal the remaining categories Step 3 Use any of the four navi gation keys to high

ER will reveal information about the drink After choosing a category you can return to the above menu by pressing the PREVIOUS button Finding Drinks by Occasion Step 1 On the main menu page use the UP and DOWN keys to high light DRINKS on the Main Menu and press ENTER Step 2 Select OCCASION from the drinks menu and press ENTER A list of nine occasions including ALL will be displayed Step 3 Use any of the four navi gation keys to highlight the occa sion you wish to select Step 4 Use the UP DOWN and NEXT keys to highlight the desired drink and press ENTER Once again the information menu will be displayed CATEGORY GLASS TYPE OCCASION RECIPE TECHNIQUE Step 5 Highlighting one of these categories and pressing ENTER will reveal information about the drink After choosing a category you can return to the above menu by pressing the PREVIOUS button Finding Other Information The main menu gives you access to lots of other information DRINKS SETTING UP MEASURES MIXERS MODIFIERS FOOD DRINK SLANG BLOOD ALCOHOL LEVEL CALCULATOR We ve seen how to use DRINKS to find the drink you re looking for by drink category type of liquor or occasion Selecting any of the main menu items and press ing ENTER will give you access to helpful facts and tips Important See the section below for using the Blood Alcohol Level Calculator Excalibur Electronics reserves the
