Symbol Sets in the Appendix for samples of the characters in each country s symbol set AutoCR Use the automatic carriage return option to perform a carriage return line feed CR LF operation whenever the print position exceeds the right margin If Auto CR is Off the printer does not print characters beyond the right margin and it does not perform a linewrap until it receives a CR Most software programs take care of this function AutoLF When you set AutoLF to Off the printer does not send an automatic line feed LF command with each carriage return CR When you set AutoLF to On the printer adds a line feed to each carriage return it receives If your text lines overprint each other set AutoLF to On Bit Image With Bit Image set to Dark or Light your printer can correctly emulate the graphics densities set with the printer commands When you select Dark the bit image density is high When you select Light the bit image density is low SelecType 5 25 The BarCode setting converts bit images to bar codes by automatically filling in any vertical gaps between dots This produces unbroken vertical lines that can be read by a bar code reader BarCode is not available in 1239X mode This mode reduces the size of the image being printed and may cause some distortion when printing bit image graphics ZeroChar This option determines whether the printer prints a slashed zero 0 or an unslashed zero 0 This featu

Quality Adjusting RiTech Resolution Improvement Technology RITech is EPSON s new printer technology that improves the appearance of printed lines text and graphics The RiTech setting The factory setting for RITech gives the best quality text and graphics for nearly all purposes You may not need to set or adjust anything Occasionally however adjusting the RITech setting may further improve the print quality For example you may want to change the setting after you replace an imaging cartridge or if you notice that your printing is not as smooth and crisp as it should be Before adjusting the RITech setting print a status sheet for a RITech test pattern to help you in determining which setting is best for you Note Before printing a status sheet turn the Toner Save Mode off with the Windows driver the Remote Control Panel or the SelecType mode The RITech test pattern is not printed when the Toner Save Mode is on out of adjustment optimal setting 6 32 Troubleshooting and Maintenance If the test pattern seems too heavy change the setting to Light as described below if it seems too light change the setting to Dark if you are printing gray shading or screen patterns change the setting to Off To change the RITech setting follow these steps Using the printer driver Changing the RITech setting on the Printer SelecType menu in the printer driver Using the Remote Control Panel utility Bring up the Re
