9. p65 27 20 1 2005 11 15 ES830 012005 p65 28 Wake To Tuner Tune to the desired radio station and adjust the volume to the level you want to hear in the morning when the alarm comes on Press the b STANDBY button to shut the system Off At the selected wake up time the radio will turn On The ALARM indicator flashes in the display It will continue for one hour and then shut off automatically To stop the radio alarm sooner press the 0 STANDBY button to shut Off Wake To CD Important This model includes an automatic default to the Radio alarm if the player cannot read the disc that you selected for wake up If the player cannot read the disc s Table of Contents TOC it assumes that the disc is either defective or inserted incorrectly and the system automatically defaults to the Radio alarm to make sure that you wake up on time The TOC of CD RW discs may take longer to read than normal CD s Therefore if you are trying to wake to a CD RW disc and you are awakened by the Radio alarm instead this is because the TOC on your CD RW disc took too long to read This is normal and not an indication of any problem with your unit Load the desired CD begin playback and adjust the volume to the desired level Press the STOP BAND button then STANDBY button to shut the system Off At the selected wake up time the CD will begin to play It will continue for o

12. a limited number of stations However if you live in a major metropolitan area with many strong stations do not use the Auto Preset feature It will memorize the first 10 strong stations it encounters and these will probably not be the same 10 stations that you would select if you were memorizing stations manually To use the Auto Preset feature turn the unit On select the Tuner function and the desired band Depress and hold the PROG PROGRAM MEMO button until the tuner display begins to move then release the button The tuner will start searching up the band and it will automatically enter the first 10 strong stations on the selected band in the 10 preset memories The display will indicate which station is being entered in each of the 10 memories After the Auto Preset feature memorizes 10 stations the tuner returns to preset memory number 1 Recalling Preset Stations Turn the unit On and select the desired band Press the PLAY MODE MEMO UP button on the top panel repeatedly to scroll through the preset memories until the display shows the desired station Changing Preset Stations To change any preset station memory select the desired band and tune to the new station you wish to memorize Press the PROG PROGRAM MEMO button and then press the PLAY MODE MEMO UP buttons to display the channel number you wish to change Press the PROG PROGRAM MEMO button again to enter the new station in the memory The new statio

14. ents Make sure nothing is accidentally discarded with the packing materials Save the carton and packing materials if possible in the unlikely event that this unit ever needs to be returned for service Using the original carton and packing material is the only way to properly protect the unit from shipping damage Remove any descriptive stickers or labels from the front panel of the main unit Do not remove any labels or stickers that may be affixed to the back panel of the main unit or the speakers This system was shipped with a dummy CD transit protection card in CD player The card was inserted to prevent the CD player mechanisms from moving during shipping and handling It must be removed and discarded before you can load your own CD Press the OPEN CLOSE position to open the CD door Remove the dummy CD and discard it Then press the OPEN CLOSE position again to close the CD door Unwind the AC power cord on the back of the main unit and extend it to its full length Unwind the FM lead wire antenna on the back of the main unit and extend it to its full length Unwind the speaker cables on the backs of the speakers and extend them to their full length 20 1 2005 11 15 ES830 012005 p65 5 Placement Of The System The system should be placed on a stable level surface such as a table shelf or stand convenient to a 120V 60Hz AC outlet out of direct sunlight
