5. ssary for cleaning You may also clean the elements without removing them by gripping an element at the point opposite where it goes into the holes in the drip pan and tilting itup Do not force it up higher than it will go easily To remove an element Tools needed pliers and slotted screwdriver e Be sure range is disconnected from electricity and the element is cool e Locate the round push nut on the underside of the unit directly below the element you want to remove You may need to apply pressure to the underside of the unit next to the push nut in order relieve the pressure that holds it in place in order to get a grip on it with pliers e While the pliers are gripping the push nut use a screwdriver to loosen and remove the screw in the center of the drip pan e Pull the element up slightly There are 2 pieces of rubber sleeve on the wires attached to the element Gently slide the rubber sleeves back and remove the element by detaching the quick disconnect terminal
