INDICATOR LIGHT Indicator light flashes a specific number of times see table below to indicate different alarm conditions when arming and disarming the system It can also act as a deterrent if installed in a place visible from outside the vehicle DURING ARMING Indicator flashes codes for zones in violation i e at least one door is opened Only one code is shown at a time If more than one zone is in violation during arming code changes when zone shown is corrected example door closed DURING DISARMING Indicator flashes code for last zone that generated the alarm condition 4 chirps or flashes Code is shown when you press e button This code is repeated until you apply the brakes The table on the next page shows the meaning of zone codes number of flashes ZONE CODES FLASHES ZONE INDICATED 1 System is armed 2 A door is was open 3 Hood is was open 4 Alarm condition is was detected on shock sensor input 5 Key is was in ignition position IGN 6 Alarm condition is was detected on additional sensor input Additional sensor monitors status of sssssss 7 Loss of power 12 battery supply was removed 8 Alarm status islhas been detected on pre shock sensor input Indicator can show two other conditions CONSTANT DIM LIGHT Indicates that alarm is permanently disarmed See VALET MODE on page 12 RAPID FLASHES Indicates that system is in rearming cycle See PASSIVE REARMING

5. command Your remote will also show you a on the LCD UNLOCK DISARM ef Press button Doors are unlocked and parking lights flash twice to confirm command has been received Your remote will also show you f o the LCD Unlock function can be programmed and connected so that the first Unlock command only unlocks the driver s door while a following Unlock command unlocks the other door s Dome light will come on for 30 seconds every time Unlock command is sent This 30 second duration is cancelled when Lock command is sent brakes are applied or key is inserted in ignition and turned to ON position This function is optional and requires an additional connection and equipment during installation stroStart 13 TRUNK RELEASE C f Press C2 and buttons simultaneously Trunk releases and parking lights flash three times to confirm command has been received Trunk cannot be released if key is in ON position In this case lights flash once to confirm command has been received and that trunk could not be released If you are not sure you received a confirmation repeat command The system will repeat the confirmation as often as you wish If your vehicle is equipped with a factory security system do not forget to rearm it after closing trunk Lock command AUTOMATIC LOCK UNLOCK Programmable as Active or Inactive during installation This function locks doors when ignition key is in ON position engine is running and b

To replace the battery slide the latch sideways and remove the battery cover on the back of the remote control case remove old battery and replace it with a new one Make sure the battery is placed the right way see pictogram inside the cover stroStart 3 CONFIRMATIONS Sent by vehicle Confirmations sent by the vehicle are generated as soon as a command is received by the starter module Your remote starter will always confirm that the command has been received either by sounding the horn siren or by flashing the parking lights Parking light confirmation is mandatory while horn or siren confirmations are optional programmable and may require additional connections and equipment during installation Emitted by the transmitter The transmitter emits three kind of confirmations audible piezo visual LCD display and physical vibration these confirmations are listed further in this guide After the confirmation signals have been emitted the transmitter only if used with the 4204 will change to power saving mode in order to reduce battery consumption Note that the communication between the vehicle and the transmitter operates only in one way This is why it is recommended to wait for the confirmation before sending another command Otherwise the vehicle and the transmitter will transmit at the same time and block the requested command as well as the returned confirmation The following diagram shows the usefulness of each seg
12. and SEMI PASSIVE REARMING on page 9 stroStart 11 SECONDARY FUNCTIONS ANTI LOCK When connected to ignition key cylinder this function prevents system from locking the doors during automatic rearming if key is in the ignition It can also be connected to a switch to select automatic locking as ACTIVE or INACTIVE TEMPORARY VALET MODE ALARM This mode is used to cancel automatic rearming for an indefinite period of time You will find this mode useful when fuelling up or working on your vehicle To activate Temporary Valet Mode press ef button during rearming cycle indicator light flashes rapidly When light stops flashing it confirms that Temporary Valet Mode has been activated To cancel this mode place ignition key in RUN position then remove it passive rearming is reactivated when you open a door You can also arm the system using the remote which cancels Temporary Valet Mode VALET MODE This mode is used to deactivate alarm permanently when you take your vehicle in for servicing for example It can be de activate by the remote see table of commands page 5 or by the Valet switch Valet switch activates Valet Mode or terminates alarm condition when your remote control is not available lost batteries dead etc This switch must be installed in a hidden place known only to regular users of the vehicle Ask your installer to tell you where it is TO ACTIVATE VALET MODE place ignition key in ON position then
13. ceive confirmations from the car When used with a 4204 immediately after a command is sent the remote control switches to receive mode for 5 seconds while waiting for a confirmation signal The only exception is for the Start command The remote will always stay in receive mode waiting for engine shut down feed back from the car When used with a 5204 the remote will always standby ready to receive information from the car like violation of a protected zone Your remote control can transmit on two different channels allowing control of two separate vehicles equipped with either 4204 or 5204 system Only the Panic command is transmitted on both channels simultaneously Each command being transmitted is confirmed by audible piezo and visual Antenna1 Antenna 2 confirmations That work in the following manner CHANNEL 1 CHANNEL 2 To transmit command To transmit a command on channel 2 press desired button then on channel 1 press as soon as a beep is heard release the button for a moment then desired button for two press it again and hold it down for two seconds seconds Remote control shown could differ from that included in the kits REPLACING THE BATTERY The LCD of your remote has a battery icon telling you when to replace the battery We strongly recommend keeping a replacement battery in your glove compartment The remote control needs one AAA battery See a dealer for spare batteries or any convenience store
14. depending on which is connected System can activate up to four deterrents simultaneously siren parking lights dome light and or horn PREVENTIVE Indicator light shows different alarm conditions see ZONE CODES on page 11 It can also act as a deterrent if installed in a place visible from outside vehicle 8 stroStart ALARM MODES WARNING Warning signal is 7 siren chirps If a two level shock sensor is connected to system warning sounds every time vehicle is subjected to a light shock when the alarm is armed The remote will also show you the violation by the small hammer icon PRE ALARM If you set off alarm by accident and do not want to alarm or disturb the whole neighborhood pre alarm mode cuts in three seconds before alarm condition to give you time to disarm system In this mode parking lights siren and dome light go on and off intermittently for three seconds Violation information will also be shown on your remote by the dedicated icon ALARM CONDITION When system is in alarm condition it activates the various deterrents connected to the alarm module Alarm condition remains active for 30 or 60 seconds depending on initial programming then system pauses for five seconds 45 seconds for Door zone During this pause it checks the protection zones again and restarts alarm cycle if a zone is still in violation This cycle can be repeated up to four times If situation that caused the violation is corrected in mid cycl
15. e alarm stops at end of current cycle Violation information will also be shown on your remote by the dedicated icon OPERATION Your alarm system has three different operating modes active semi passive rearming and passive rearming depending on initial programming See the relevant paragraph for the mode your system was configured in during installation ACTIVE In active mode the alarm must be armed and disarmed using the remote see Table of Commands on page 4 Alarm is armed as soon as command is received even if a zone is in violation when command is received If so the remote will emit a chirp telling you that one zone is active but the alarm is now enable However violated zone cannot trigger the alarm unless it was in a normal condition beforehand This mode is always available even if during installation your system was not configured for it SEMI PASSIVE REARMING In semi passive mode alarm must be armed and disarmed using the remote see Table of Commands on page 4 In this mode alarm rearms automatically 25 seconds after disarming rearming cycle if doors are all closed Indicator light flashes rapidly to indicate that system is in rearming cycle Note If vehicle is equipped with power locks interfaced with the system a device can be added to prevent doors from locking during rearming if key is still in ignition If applicable this device allows system to be armed but cancels locking Key detection device is __
16. e hood is open If the vehicle is ready to start the system will automatically change to the start cycle and send another confirmation only if the command was successfully executed The system can take a few seconds to send back the confirmation System is ready to start flashing parking lights System is not ready to start fix fan Successfully started animated fan IF ENGINE DOES NOT START If your system cannot start engine at first attempt it will wait a few seconds then try again it could try again twice depending on reason for failure to start After three attempts it will shut down automatically and wait for a new command In this case confirmations sent by the vehicle are the same but remote control does not show any confirmations UPON ENTERING YOUR VEHICLE Do not apply brakes this will stop engine immediately Insert ignition turn it to position 1N DO NOT TURN IGNITION KEY TO START Position Drive as usual Status 22 When this command is sent the command module checks engine status protection zones status and lock status then retransmits this information to remote control which indicates the results on the LCD display with a combination of pictograms When remote control receives a confirmation it flashes the relevant pictograms and vibrates twice If vehicle is out of range remote control will give a soft chirp after five seconds to indicate that either the cont

18. is open confirmation will be different lights 3 When mode is cancelled Parking lights will flash twice to confirm that mode is cancelled Applying brakes also cancels Low Temperature mode SECURITY SYSTEM This section only applies with 5204 remote starters The 5204 is sold as a Two way remote starter with built in alarm system Which means that the remote is in constant communication with your car It will inform you about a door or trunk being opened for more than 5 minutes that your car is shuts down all that by the icons on your remote PROTECTION ZONES Your security system can use up to six different monitoring devices simultaneously to protect your vehicle These devices are connected to the system on different inputs called protection zones One of these zones can send an audible warning 7 chirps while the other five generate an alarm condition if System is armed PROTECTION ZONES FUNCTIONS Pre shock Warning Siren chirps 7 times Pre shock more than 3 time in 3 min Doors Siren ON for 30 or 60 second period which can be repeated up to 4 times depending on initial programming Hood T and whether violated zone is corrected or not Additional sensor Trunk Each period is separated by a 5 second pause Shock sensor 45 seconds for Door zone Ignition key DETERRENTS ACTIVE When one of the monitoring devices detects a violation system reacts by activating the following deterrents
