6. etting has been changed it nay be due to the built in tine delays 4 minutes nax 4 Press the Fan button if it is desired to run the fan continuously A Fan a icon will appear on the display when the fan is set to operate continuously 110 964B 7 12 01 9 14 AM Page 11 F Changing The Qment Ten perature Seting L Press and release either the Decrease J tattonor increase GY button to see the currert tenperature setting The setting a Thenmoneter icon and a Double Arrowhead icon will appear see Figures 2 and 30n pages 5 and 6 2 Change the tenperature setting OPTION 1 Use the pacrease K tutonor increase GS button Press and hold the pecrease 0 button or increase QS button to change the current tenperature setting The thenrostat remembers the most recent tenperature settings For example if the Day Cool tenperature shown in Figure 3 were changed from 78F to 76F the 76F setting would remain in memory as the Day Cool setting Note The Cool tenperature setting must be a mininumof 2F higher than the Heat tenperature setting for both the Day and Night sets The then rostat will autorratically update the setting not being changed In the exarrple above if the Day Heat setting was 75F the thenrostat would have automatically changed the setting to 74 F when the Cool setting was changed to 76F OPTION 2 Use the DAY NIGHT button Press the DAY NIGHT button to instantly change the tenperature setting to one of the two setting

8. s stored in merry 9 110 964B 7 12 01 9 14 AM Page 12 F Optional Feature Locking The Keypad If tampering with the thenrostat is expected and unwanted the keypad can be locked by changing the position of the Keypad Lock DIP switch switch no 2 fromthe factory set OFF position to ON The DIP switches are located inside the thenrostat on the circuit board To access the DIP switches refer to the Installation Instructions that carre with the thenrostat or consult your contractor In the locked position only the following functions can be done e The outdoor tenperature button will display the outdoor tenperature The thenrostat will default to the Day setting The pecene button and mcreaseQy button will tenporarily change the Day setting a mexinumof 46 F 38 for Model 8533 for a period of 3 hours before the thenrostat autorratically retums to the Dey setting If the thenrostat does not respond when a button is pushed it nay be because the keypad has been locked A tok f icon will appear when a button other than Outdoor is pushed if the keypad has been locked 10 110 964B 7 12 01 9 14 AM Page 13 F In Case Of Power Failure This themostat does not require a battery If the power goes out the display is blank During the period that the power is off the heating cooling systemwiill not operate When the power is restored the thenrostat will default to the Day setting and the current mode of oper
9. set for continuous operation Tenperature Display Roomtenperature can be displayed in either degrees Fahrenheit or degrees Celsius If the displayed tenperature seems abnormally high or low example 70F is equal to 21 C press the pecrense button and INCREASE N button simultaneously to switch between F and C Mode Button Three modes of operation are available for all the Heat Cool thenrostat models Heat Cool and Off Additionally with the Models 8534 and 8538 AL amp O node is available The node of operation indicates how you want your heating and cooling equipment to operate Press the MODE button until the desired mode of operation shows on the display Tenperature Settings Day Night Button The thenrostat stores four tenperature settings in its menory two for heating and two for cooling The two tenperatures for each mode are called the Day setting X a sun icon appears on the display 3 110 964B 7 12 01 9 14 AM Page 6 p and the Night setting a moon icon appears on the display The Dery setting is intended to be an occupied or confort setting and the Night setting is intended to be an unoccupied or energy savings setting For example the four settings stored in the nenory of the thenrostat night be as shown in Table 1 Pressing the DAY NIGHT button allows you to instantly change to a nore economical setting when leaving the house or going to bed and to a comfort setting when retuming horre or
