Off to turn the machine off and then on again Document jam DCP 540CN only Documents can jam if they are not inserted or fed properly or if they are too long Follow the steps below to clear a document jam Document is jammed in the top of the ADF unit D Take out any paper from the ADF that is not jammed 2 Open the ADF cover Pull the jammed document up and to the left 4 Close the ADF cover 5 Press Stop Exit EG Note To avoid document jams close the ADF cover properly by pressing it down in the center Troubleshooting and Routine Maintenance Document is jammed inside the ADF unit ep Take out any paper from the ADF that is not jammed Lift the document cover Pull the jammed document out to the left 4 Close the document cover Press Stop Exit 69 Printer jam or paper jam Remove the Jam Clear Cover 1 from a the back of the machine Pull the Take out the jammed paper depending on jammed paper out of the machine where it is jammed in the machine ED Pull the paper tray 1 out of the machine amp Reset the machine by lifting the scanner cover from the front of the machine and then closing it E If you cannot remove the jammed Put the Jam Clear Cover back on paper from the front side or the error Make sure the cover is set properly message still appears on the LCD after you remove the jammed paper please go to the next step 70
