Inc DICOM Conformance Statement 6 4 Grayscale Image Consistency The ZONARE z one provides grayscale image consistency by means of displays 6 LCD for the scan engine and 13 LCD for the Supercart and miniCart systems which are calibrated such that equal changes in digital driving levels will result in approximately the same levels of perceptibility at all driving levels The display characteristic curve and ambient light levels of the 13 LCD are measured in the factory using an external luminance meter The result of the calibration is a set of monitor gamma correction LUTs that are stored within the LCD monitor of the Supercart system The default gamma correction LUT is set based on best perceptual linearization and overall display contrast With guidance from ZONARE personnel the gamma correction LUT selection for the Supercart system can be changed via the lower jog dial button of the 13 LCD monitor For the 6 LCD display on the scan engine and for the 13 LCD on the miniCart a fixed monitor correction LUT is used which produces similar perceived contrast performance as the 13 LCD with the default gamma LUT on the Supercart The perceived contrast performance can be tested by generating a ZONARE grayscale test pattern similar to a SMPTE pattern via software menu control see z one user s manual There is no grayscale image consistency for the external video output for the luminance characteristic curve of any display device
