INTERFACE SPECIFICATION NDIS Enabling the Network Driver Interface Specification allows always on connectivity much like an Ethernet card and eliminates the need to use VZAccess Manager As soon as the USB connector is inserted into your USB port the device connects to the network automatically The connection is also reestablished when your computer comes out of hibernate and standby modes NOTE The first time you enable the NDIS mode Windows nore Will automatically install the network drivers for the VZAccess USB modem Once Windows detects the new hardware a Found New Hardware pop up message will appear in your system tray followed by the Ready to Use message Your device must be activated with Verizon and you must be within the Verizon coverage area for this feature to work You may now use your device in NDIS mode and experience automatic connectivity without launching Verizon Access Manager NDIS Status The following icons also appear on the status bar to indicate your device s NDIS status NDIS is enabled and connected NDIS is enabled but disconnected No NDIS image NDIS is disabled 20 CONNECTING 10111501707 Additional information when using the NationalAccess connection By default VZAccess Manager enables the Venturi compression software for the BroadbandAccess and NationalAccess connections If you are using the BroadbandAccess or NationalAccess connection and the
