Alternate InfraRed signal 7 lf the procedure has been successful HouseMate will stop beeping You can test the recording by clicking on the InfraRed command The HouseMate hardware should beep and you should see the Transmitting InfraRed popup message Do this twice to test both copies of the toggle signal A common mistake when recording toggle codes is to hold the button on the remote control for too long or to leave too long a gap between releasing the button on the remote control and then releasing the HouseMate button A quick press of the remote control button immediately followed by releasing the HouseMate button is all that is required The memory size for recording toggle signals is only 2 seconds per signals If you hold the button on the remote control for longer than this or leave too long a gap before releasing the HouseMate button then the recording will fail the following dialog will appear and HouseMate will beep continuously until you let go all buttons 4 InfraRed signal too long Record failed Please try again Another mistake is to press the HouseMate button and the remote control button at the same time It is important to press and hold the HouseMate button before you press the remote control button so as to capture all the signal You can leave as long as you want between pressing the HouseMate button and pressing the remote control button with no fear of using up memory because HouseMate only starts the

Choose Stand Alone Mode from the menu options in the ClickToPhone homepage 18 9 3 Disable Notifications Because the HouseMate grids occupy the full screen it is not possible to see the notification area or status bar of the phone When ClickToPhone is trying to connect to hardware the Connecting to and No hardware found Messages are displayed as pop ups On some phones however pop up messages reset the display timeout timer thereby preventing the phone from going to sleep If this is the case either remember to return to the ClickToPhone homepage after you have finished using the HouseMate application or check this option ex 18 9 Z Wave I It is possible to control Z wave devices using HouseMate and a MiCasaVerde Vera home controller The Vera home controller is available from www micaseverde com and is essentially a wifi router with Z wave capabilities The Z wave enabled appliances within your home must first be paired with your Vera unit Then once your phone is connected to the Vera unit over wifi it is possible to control these Z wave devices from within HouseMate It is beyond the scope of this document to explain how to pair your Z wave devices with your Vera unit so itis assumed that you have already carried out this procedure Refer to the Vera documentation for further details 18 9 1 Pairing you phone with your Vera unit Unique Perspectives www click2go0 ie Page 123 of 168 _ a User
