About the Application The Sound Eklin Orthoplan Elite application is an orthopaedic planning software that supports multidisciplinary orthopaedic areas such as total joint spine and trauma measurements It features a large implant database with templates from major implant manufacturers It also provides advanced orthopaedic tools such as image stitching automatic hip templating and automatic measurements Some advanced tools are optional and indicated as so in the appropriate sections of this document The Sound Eklin Orthoplan Elite application provides stitching capability through the Sound Eklin Orthoplan Elite X Stitch module For complete details refer to the Sound Eklin Orthoplan Elite X Stitch Console User s Guide ways It does not interpret image data to generate a diagnosis Diagnostic interpretation is the user s responsibility The Sound Eklin Orthoplan Elite application supports the review of multi slice datasets e g CT MRI however it does not support the review of multi frame datasets f The application presents patient studies on a monitor in various We recommend that you use a spherical fiducial marker when you acquire images for use with the Sound Eklin Orthoplan Elite application Contact Customer Support for more information see Customer Support on page 167 The application allows for compliance with HIPAA Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act by logging u

Open the Sound Eklin Orthoplan Elite X Stitch module from the Sound Eklin ProPlanner application When you save your stitched image the module saves the image to the patient study in the Sound Eklin ProPlanner database When you exit the Sound Eklin Orthoplan Elite X Stitch module the saved stitched image appears as a thumbnail in the Main Review window of the Sound Eklin ProPlanner application Using the Help System The help system provides quick access to user instructions To use the online help 1 From the Help menu select Help Topics 2 The module displays the help system in a separate window 3 Use the following features to navigate the help system and find the required topics e Click Contents to display a list of topics available then click the topic you want to view e Click Index to display a list of keywords from which you can select a topic Type in the first few letters of the keyword you are looking for then double click the keyword This is often the easiest way to find a topic e Click Search to find all topics that contain a keyword Type the keyword you want to find click List Topics then click the desired topic in the list displayed e Click Back to return to the last topic viewed Using the Quick Start Tips The Quick Start Tips displays a list of tips for getting started with the module To use the Quick Start tips 1 From the Help menu click Quick Start Tips 2 The module displays

Compressed Images It is possible to misinterpret images that are lossy compressed due to the loss of information from the image To avoid misinterpretation the application labels all images that are lossy compressed Lossy compressed images are subject to misinterpretation due to information loss Lossy compressed images must not be used for primary diagnostic interpretation unless approved for use Date and Number Format The application uses the date format and number format specified by your workstation s regional settings You should check your regional settings to ensure that your workstation uses the most common date and number format used in your region to avoid confusion We also recommend that you set the workstation to recognize four digit years To check your workstation s regional settings 1 In the Taskbar click Start Settings Control Panel 2 Double click Regional and Language Options 3 Ensure that you have selected the most common language number and date settings used in your region The date style should include a four digit year 4 If you have made any changes restart your operating system Power and Hardware Failure Due to uncontrollable events such as power and hardware failure the workstation must not be the only source of image data for diagnosis Image data must be available from other sources such as scanner consoles archives and or films A The workstation must not be the only source of diagno
