To transmit an Individual call you must program this directory with information of the persons you wish to call similar to a cellular phones telephone directory 1 Press and hold the key until Setup Menu appears 2 Press the key to select DSC Setup menu 3 Press the key then select Individual Direc tory with the key 4 Press the key 5 Select Add with the key then press the key 6 Press the key to select the first letter of the name of the vessel or person you want to reference in the directory 7 Press the key to store the first letter in the name and step to the next letter to the right 8 Repeat step 6 and 7 until the name is complete The name can consist of up to eleven charac ters if you do not use all eleven characters press the key to move to the next space This etthNii Guiteftlel method can also be used to enter a blank space in the name If a mistake was made entering in the name repeatedly press the key until the wrong character is selected then press the key to correct the entry 9 After the eleventh letter or space has been entered press and hold the key to advance to the MMSI Maritime Mobile Service Identity Num ber number entry 10 Press the key to scroll through numbers 0 9 To enter the de sired number and move one space to the right press the key Repeat SecuP Merni ap p to SecurP Menu SETUP gt Individual Directory PE LLLR Ind
14. key 6 9 3 PRESET CHANNEL SCAN After channels have been stored into preset memory the channels may be scanned by following the steps below 1 To start scanning press the key 2 To stop the scan press the or key NOTE Preset scan starts from the first to the last channel programmed into memory When an incoming signal is detected on one of the channels during scan the radio will pause on that channel allowing you to listen to the incoming transmission When the transmission stops the radio will automatically start Preset scan again During Priority Preset scan the channels will rapidly change 6 9 4 PRIORITY PRESET SCAN This feature enables the radio to scan preset channels while also keeping watch on a particularly important Priority Channel Any channel may be pro grammed as a priority channel To set the priority channel and enable Priority Scan 1 Press and hold the key until Setup Menu appears 2 Press the key with Radio Setup selected 3 Select Priority CH in the Radio Setup menu with the key then press the key 4 Press the key to select a desired chan nel then press the key 5 Press the key to select SCAN Type and press the key J16 EE 6 Press the a key to select Priority Scan LE tont then press the key E tao 7 Press the key numerous times until the setup mode Eet LENT uitottLe is not shown SeTcuP Mer SPr1oPity SUM M
