1. Keep the treadmill indoors away from mois ture and dust Do not put the treadmill in a garage or covered patio or near water Place the treadmill on a level surface with at least 8 ft 2 4 m of clearance behind it and 2 ft 0 6 m on each side Do not place the treadmill on any surface that blocks air openings To protect the floor or carpet from damage place a mat under the treadmill Do not operate the treadmill where aerosol products are used or where oxygen is being administered Keep children under age 12 and pets away from the treadmill at all times The treadmill should be used only by per sons weighing 300 Ibs 136 kg or less Never allow more than one person on the treadmill at a time Wear appropriate exercise clothes while using the treadmill Do not wear loose clothes that could become caught in the treadmill Athletic support clothes are recom mended for both men and women Always wear athletic shoes Never use the treadmill with bare feet wearing only stockings or in sandals 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 Plug the power cord into a surge suppressor not included and plug the surge suppres sor into an appropriate outlet see page 18 To avoid overloading the circuit do not plug other electrical devices except for low power devices such as cell phone chargers into the surge suppressor or into an outlet on the same circuit Use only a surge suppressor that meets al

4. workout the profiles on the speed and incline tabs will show your progress The flashing seg ment of the profile represents the current segment of the workout The height of the flashing segment Current Segment indicates the speed or incline setting for the current 6 segment At the end of each segment a series of tones will sound and the next segment of the pro file will begin to flash If a different speed and or incline setting is programmed for the next segment 7 the speed and or incline setting will flash in the dis play to alert you and the treadmill will automatically adjust to the new speed and or incline setting The workout will continue in this way until the last segment of the profile flashes in the display and the last segment ends The walking belt will then slow to a stop 1 Note The calorie goal is an estimate of the number of calories that you will burn during the workout The actual number of calories 2 that you burn will depend on various factors such as your weight In addition if you manu ally change the speed or incline of the treadmill during the workout the number of calories you burn will be affected If the speed or incline setting is too high or too low at any time during the workout you can manu ally override the setting by pressing the Speed or Incline buttons however when the next segment of the workout begins the treadmill will auto 3 matically adjust
5. a medical device Various factors including the user s movement may affect the accuracy of heart rate readings The heart rate monitor is intended only as an exercise aid in determin ing heart rate trends in general Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running Always remove the key press the power switch into the off position see the drawing on page 7 for the location of the power switch and unplug the power cord when the treadmill is not in use Do not attempt to move the treadmill until it is properly assembled See ASSEMBLY on page 9 and HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL on page 30 You must be able to safely lift 45 Ibs 20 kg to raise lower 25 26 27 28 or move the treadmill When folding or mov ing the treadmill make sure that the storage latch is holding the frame securely in the storage position Never insert any object into any opening on the treadmill Inspect and properly tighten all parts of the treadmill regularly DANGER Always unplug the power cord immediately after use before clean ing the treadmill and before performing the maintenance and adjustment procedures described in this manual Never remove the motor hood unless instructed to do so by an authorized service representative Servicing other than the procedures in this manual should be performed by an authorized ser vice representative only Over exercising may result in serious injury or death If you

7. rise to the maximum incline level and then return to the minimum level This will recalibrate the incline system If the incline system does not begin calibrating press the Stop button again and then press the Incline increase or decrease button again When the incline system is calibrated remove the key from the console SYMPTOM The walking belt slows when walked on a Useonly a surge suppressor that meets all of the specifications described on page 18 32 b C d If the walking belt is overtightened treadmill per formance may decrease and the walking belt may become damaged Remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD Using the hex key turn both idler roller screws counterclockwise 1 4 of a turn When the walking belt is properly tightened you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in 5 to 7 cm off the walking platform Be careful to keep the walking belt centered Then plug in the power cord insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walk ing belt is properly tightened Idler Roller Screws Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high performance lubricant IMPORTANT Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform unless instructed to do so by an authorized service representative Such substances may deterio rate the walking belt and cause excessive wear If you suspect that the walking belt n
8. the next workout in your schedule Press the Map Train or Lose Wt button to download the next workout of that type in your schedule To compete in a race that you have previously scheduled press the Compete button To re run a recent iFit workout from your schedule first press the Track button Next press the in crease and decrease buttons to select the desired workout Then press the Enter button to start the workout Note Before some workouts will download you must add them to your schedule on iFit com For more information about the iFit workouts please see www iFit com When you select an iFit workout the display will show the duration of the workout the distance you will walk or run and the approximate number of calories you will burn The display may also show the name of the workout Start the workout See step 3 on page 22 During some workouts an audio coach may guide you through your workout To stop the workout at any time press the Stop button The time will begin to flash in the display To resume the workout press the Start button or the Speed increase button The walking belt will begin to move at the speed setting for the first seg ment of the workout When the next segment of the workout begins the treadmill will automatically adjust to the speed and incline settings for the next segment Follow your progress with the displays See step 5 on page 21 During a competition workout the Comp
9. to the speed and incline set tings for the next segment To stop the workout at any time press the Stop button The time will begin to flash in the display To resume the workout press the Start button or the Speed increase button The walking belt will begin to move at 1 mph When the next segment of the workout begins the treadmill will automatically adjust to the speed and incline settings for the next segment 23 Follow your progress with the displays See step 5 on page 21 If you select an onboard workout the display will show the time remaining instead of the elapsed time Measure your heart rate if desired See step 6 on page 22 Turn on the fan if desired See step 7 on page 22 When you are finished exercising remove the key from the console See step 8 on page 22 HOW TO USE A SET A GOAL WORKOUT Insert the key into the console See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 20 Set a goal First press the Set a Goal button repeatedly until the desired workout appears in the display Next press the speed and incline buttons to select the speed and incline settings for the workout Then press the increase and decrease buttons next to the Enter button to adjust the goal Start the workout Press the Start button to start the workout A moment after you press the button the walking belt will begin to move Hold the handrails and begin walking The workout will function in the same way as the manual
10. will not function If the demo mode is turned on the word ON will appear in the matrix To turn on or turn off the demo mode press the Enter button 26 Units The selected unit of measurement will appear in the matrix To change the unit of mea surement press the Enter button To view distance in miles select ENGLISH To view distance in kilometers select METRIC Default Menu The default menu will appear when you insert the key into the console or when you press the Home button Press the Enter button repeatedly to select the manual main screen or the iFit screen as the default menu Firmware Update For the best results regularly check for firmware updates Note The matrix will display NOT CONNECTED if the console is not connected to a wireless network Press the Enter button to check for firmware updates using your wireless network If an update is available the update will begin automatically IMPORTANT To avoid damaging the treadmill do not turn off the power while the firmware is being updated The update may take several minutes Note Occasionally a firmware update may cause your console to function slightly differently These updates are always designed to improve your exer cise experience Default Settings To restore the console to its factory default settings press the Enter button Note The console will erase any information that you have saved in its memory The WiFi Normal option w
11. workout see page 24 To use the sound system see page 25 To change console set tings see page 26 Note The console can display speed and distance in either miles or kilometers To find which unit of measurement is selected see HOW TO CHANGE CONSOLE SETTINGS on page 26 For simplicity all instructions in this section refer to miles IMPORTANT If there are sheets of plastic on the console remove the plastic To prevent damage to the walking platform wear clean athletic shoes while using the treadmill The first time you use the treadmill observe the alignment of the walking belt and center the walking belt if necessary see page 33 19 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures allow it to warm to room tem perature before you turn on the power If you do not do this you may damage the console displays or other electrical components Plug in the power cord see page 18 Next locate the power switch on the tread mill frame near the power cord Press the power switch into the reset position l m Reset IMPORTANT The console features a display demo mode designed to be used if the treadmill is dis played in a store If the displays light as soon as you plug in the power cord and press the power switch into the reset position the demo mode is turned on To turn off the demo mode hold down the Stop button for a few seconds If the displays remain
12. yi Bee 20 FITNESS APPS ne SS etetett 9 RPE REE u U fin DU FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec tive and enjoyable When you use the manual mode you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button As you exercise the console will display instant exercise feedback You can even measure your heart rate using the handgrip heart rate monitor or the optional chest heart rate monitor In addition the console features a selection of on board workouts Each workout automatically controls the speed and incline of the treadmill as it guides you through an effective exercise session The console also features an iFit mode that enables the treadmill to communicate with your wireless networ With the iFit mode you can download per sonalized workouts create your own workouts track your workout results race against other iFit users and access many other features Go to www iFit com to learn more You can even listen to your favorite workout music or audio books with the console s sound system while you exercise To turn on the power see page 20 To use the man ual mode see page 20 To use an onboard workout see page 22 To use a set a goal workout see page 23 To use an iFit
13. you fold it to the storage posi tion Next remove the key from the console and put it in a secure place 22 When you are finished using the treadmill press the power switch into the off position and unplug the power cord IMPORTANT If you do not do this the treadmill s electrical components may wear prematurely HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT Insert the key into the console See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 20 Select an onboard workout To select an onboard workout press the Calorie button the Intensity button the Incline button or the Speed button repeatedly until the desired work out appears in the display When you select an onboard workout the display will show the duration of the workout and the name of the workout In addition a profile of the speed settings of the workout will appear in the matrix If you select a calorie workout the approximate num ber of calories you will burn will appear in the name of the workout Start the workout Press the Start button or the Speed increase button to start the workout A moment after you press the button the treadmill will automatically adjust to the first speed and incline settings of the workout Hold the handrails and begin walking Each workout is divided into segments One speed setting and one incline setting are programmed for each segment Note The same speed setting and or incline setting may be programmed for consecu tive segments During the
14. 4 WARNING Before beginning this or any exercise program consult your physi cian This is especially important for persons over age 35 or persons with pre existing health problems The heart rate monitor is not a medical device Various factors may affect the accuracy of heart rate readings The heart rate monitor is intended only as an exercise aid in determin ing heart rate trends in general These guidelines will help you to plan your exercise program For detailed exercise information obtain a reputable book or consult your physician Remember proper nutrition and adequate rest are essential for successful results EXERCISE INTENSITY Whether your goal is to burn fat or to strengthen your cardiovascular system exercising at the proper inten sity is the key to achieving results You can use your heart rate as a guide to find the proper intensity level The chart below shows recommended heart rates for fat burning and aerobic exercise 165 155 145 145 138 130 125 120 115 140 130 125 115 Y 125 118 110 103 110 105 95 90 vw 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 To find the proper intensity level find your age at the bottom of the chart ages are rounded off to the near est ten years The three numbers listed above your age define your training zone The lowest number is the heart rate for fat burning the middle number is the heart rate for maximum fat burning and the highest number is the heart rate for aerobic exerci

16. bar 93 do not use power tools and do not overtighten the 10 x 3 4 Screws 9 Orient the Pulse Crossbar 93 as shown Attach the Pulse Crossbar to the Handrails 86 with two 10 x 3 4 Screws 9 and two 10 Star Washers 5 start both Screws and then tighten them Make sure not to pinch the Upright Wire 81 Firmly tighten the four 5 16 x 2 1 2 Screws 28 14 12 With the help of a second person hold the con sole assembly near the Handrails 86 only one Console side is shown Assembly Connect the ground wire from the console assembly to the Console Ground Wire 58 on the Pulse Crossbar 93 Console See the inset drawing Connect the Upright Wire Wire 81 to the console wire The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place If they do not turn one connector and try again IF YOU DO NOT CONNECT THE CON NECTORS PROPERLY THE CONSOLE MAY BECOME DAMAGED WHEN YOU TURN ON THE POWER Then remove the wire tie from the Upright Wire Console 13 Set the console assembly on the brackets on the Handrails 86 Make sure not to pinch any Console wires Assembly Attach the console assembly to the brackets on the Handrails 86 with the four 5 16 x 3 4 Screws 4 that you removed in step 9 and four 5 16 Star Washers 11 do not fully tighten the Screws yet Insert the excess Upright Wire 81 into the Right Upright

18. curing the Upright Wire 81 to the front of the Base 94 Identify the Right Upright 90 Have a second person hold the Right Upright near the Base 94 See the inset drawing Tie the wire tie in the Right Upright 90 securely around the end of the Upright Wire 81 Then insert the Upright Wire into the lower end of the Right Upright as you pull the other end of the wire tie through the Right Upright 3 Lay the Right Upright 90 near the Base 94 Press the Grommet 77 into the square hole in the Right Upright 90 Make sure not to pinch the ground wire Then attach the ground wire to the Right Upright 90 with a 8 x 1 2 Silver Screw 10 94 10 DID Em Q Wire Square Ps Hole 10 4 Hold the Right Upright 90 against the Base 94 Be careful not to pinch the wires Partially tighten three 3 8 x 4 Screws 7 with three 3 8 Star Washers 13 into the Right Upright and the Base do not fully tighten the Screws yet Attach the Left Upright not shown in the same way Note There are no wires on the left side 5 Identify the Left and Right Base Covers 82 83 Slide the Left Base Cover onto the Left Upright 89 and slide the Right Base Cover onto the Right Upright 90 Do not press the Base Covers into place yet 11 6 T Identify the left handrail assembly A Attach the left handrail assembly to the Left Upright 89 with two 5 16 x 2 1 2 Screws 28 and two 5 16 S
19. d mill without tipping it back do not pull on the frame and do not move the treadmill over an uneven surface 3 Place one foot against a wheel and carefully lower the treadmill HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1 See drawing 2 Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand Pull the latch knob to the left H lo and hold it Next lower the frame until it is past F the latch pin Make sure that the pin does not hit against the foot rail Then release the latch knob 2 See drawing 1 at the left Hold the metal frame firmly with both hands and lower it to the floor CAUTION Do not hold the frame by the plastic foot rails and do not drop the frame Bend your legs and keep your back straight To protect the floor or carpet place a mat under the treadmill Keep the treadmill out of direct sunlight Do not leave the treadmill in the storage position in tem peratures above 85 F 30 C 30 MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING MAINTENANCE Regularly clean the treadmill and keep the walking belt clean and dry First press the power switch into the off position and unplug the power cord Wipe exterior parts of the treadmill with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap IMPORTANT Do not spray liquids directly onto the treadmill To avoid damage to the console keep liquids away from the console Then thoroughly dry the treadmill with a soft towel TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmi

21. eeds more lubricant see the front cover of this manual If the walking belt still slows when walked on see the front cover of this manual SYMPTOM The walking belt is off center or slips when walked on a If the walking belt is off center first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD If the walking belt has shifted to the left use the hex key to turn the left idler roller screw clockwise 1 2 of a turn if the walking belt has shifted to the right turn the left idler roller screw counterclock wise 1 2 of a turn Be careful not to overtighten the walking belt Then plug in the power cord insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walking belt is centered If the walking belt slips when walked on first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD Using the hex key turn both idler roller screws clockwise 1 4 of a turn When the walk ing belt is correctly tightened you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in 5 to 7 cm off the walking platform Be careful to keep the walking belt centered Then plug in the power cord insert the key and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walk ing belt is properly tightened SYMPTOM The console display has lines running through it a If lines appear in the console display see HOW TO CHANGE CONSOLE SETTINGS on page 26 and adjust the contrast level of the display EXERCISE GUIDELINES 4
22. eigh the firmer the walking platform should be HOW TO USE THE TABLET HOLDER You can use your tablet to browse media while you exercise Place your tablet on the tablet holder and let the tablet holder hold your tablet in place Tablet Holder 29 HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL HOW TO MOVE THE TREADMILL To avoid damaging the treadmill adjust the incline Before moving the treadmill fold it as described at the to zero before you fold the treadmill Then remove left CAUTION Make sure that the latch knob is the key and unplug the power cord CAUTION You locked in the storage position Moving the treadmill must be able to safely lift 45 Ibs 20 kg to raise may require two people lower or move the treadmill 1 Hold the frame and one of the handrails and place 1 Hold the metal frame firmly in the location shown one foot against a wheel by the arrow below CAUTION Do not hold the frame by the plastic foot rails Bend your legs and keep your back straight 2 Hold the frame firmly with your right hand Pull the latch knob to the left and hold it Raise the frame until the latch plate is aligned with the latch pin Then slowly release the latch knob make sure that the latch pin is resting on the latch plate 2 Pull back on the handrail until the treadmill will roll on the wheels and carefully move it to the desired location CAUTION Do not move the trea
