FUEL TANK SWITCH amp FUEL TANK Fuel switch is under the left side of the fuel tank Off position When fuel switch is on the position of fuel can t flow to carburetor from fuel tank Please keep the fuel switch on Off position when you do not drive the vehicle U On position When fuel switch is on the position of UJ fuel will flow into carburetor from main fuel system until it reaches reserve level W Reserve position When the fuel switch is on W Reserve position fuel would supply from reserve level Reserve Fuel on Fuel off WARNING Please refuel when the fuel switch is on W position and turn the switch back to J position after refueling To open fuel tank cap please insert the key and turn it clockwise and open the cover To close the fuel tank please recap and then press it Take away the key when you hear the sound of lock ing Recommended fuel REGULAR UNLEADED GASOLINE ONLY Fuel tank capacity 16L OS KEE WAY Do not over fill the fuel tank Do not make fuel splashes on hot engine Please stop the engine and turn the ignition key to SQ Off position when you need to refuel Do not forget to lock the fuel tank cover after adding the fuel in case of evaporation to the air which is a waste of energy and would pollute the environment REAR SHOCK ABSORBER Each shock absorber assembly is equipped with a spring preload adjusting ring the spring of the rear

Perform the pre operation checks each time you use the vehicle to make sure it is in safe operating condition Failure to inspect or maintain the vehicle properly increases the possibility of an accident or equipment damage See the page for a list of pre op eration checks e This vehicle is designed to carry the operator and a passenger e The failure of motorists to detect and recognize vehicles in traffic is the predominating cause of automobile vehicle accidents Many accidents have been caused by an automobile driver who did not see the vehicle Making yourself prominent appears to be very effective in reducing the chance of this type of accident Therefore e Wear a brightly colored jacket e Use extra caution when you are approaching and passing through intersections since intersec tions are the most likely places for vehicle accidents to occur e Ride where other motorists can see you Avoid riding in another motorist s blind spot e Many accidents involve inexperienced operators In fact many operators who have been involved in accidents do not even have a current driver s license e Make sure that you are qualified and that you only lend your vehicle to other qualified operators e Know your skills and limits Staying within your limits may help you to avoid an accident e We recommend that you practice riding your vehi cle where there is no traffic until you have become thoroughly familiar with the vehicle and
6. digital Tachometer to the spark plug cable 4 Adjust the idle screw and keep the revolution of engine stable Idle speed 1 400 100r min VALVE CLEARANCE The valve clearance changes with use resulting in improper air fuel mixture and or engine noise To prevent this from occurring the valve clearance must be adjusted by a dealer at the intervals specified in the periodic maintenance and lubrication chart The engine is required to be in normal operating temperature for accurate idling adjustment Valve clearance Cold engine IN 0 05 0 07mm EX 0 05 0 07mm KEEWAY AIR FILTER The air filter element should be replaced and should be cleaned at the intervals specified in the periodic maintenance and lubrication chart REPLACING THE AIR FILTER ELEMENT 1 Place the vehicle on the main stand 2 Remove the air filter case cover by removing the screws 3 Pull the air filter element out 4 Insert a new air filter element into the air filter case 5 Install the air filter case cover by installing the screws Air Filter 21 22 OQ KEE WAY CHECKING THE THROTTLE CABLE FREE PLAY The throttle cable free play should measure 3 0 5 0 mm atthe throttle grip Periodically check the throttle cable free play and if necessary have a dealer adjust it CHECKING THE CLUTCH FREE PLAY The free play of clutch is measured from the free status of the lever Adjust in following methods if anything
7. handle switch 2 Main stand Throttle grip 43 Side stand D Front brake lever OQ KEE WAY CONSUMER INFORMATION OLD SR e The vehicle identifi cation number is stamped on the right side steering head tube e The engine serial number is stamped on the lower left of the VIN crankcase TIP The vehicle identifi cation number or the engine serial number are used to register the vehi cle they are also to assist your dealer in terms of ordering parts or referring to engine serial number ENGINE No information INSTRUMENT AND CONTROL FUNCTIONS Key Switch 63 Off position All the circuits are off On position The circuits are on The Steering Lock It is set at the lower right side of the head tube When using it steer the handle to the left and insert the ignition key into the steering lock and turn it clockwise X NOTICE Do not turn your key to lock the vehicle while driving which is not necessary and is also apt to cause accident Press the key in a proper force Meter amp Indicator OES QR o NO 1 Gear Indicator Lamp Numbers on the meter indicate the gear position of the vehicle 2 Neutral Indicator Lamp When the transmission is shifted to neutral position the indicator is on 3 High Beam Indicator Lamp When the high beam lamp of the headlamp turns on the high beam indicator lamp would be on 4 Tachomet
8. minutes until the oil settles remove the oil filler cap wipe the dipstick clean insert it back into the oil filler hole without screwing it in and then remove it again to check the oil level 4 If the engine oil is below the minimum level mark add sufficient oil of the recommended type to refill it to the correct level 5 Insert the dipstick into the oil filler hole and then tighten the oil filler cap IF EQUIPPED NOTICE The engine oil should be between the minimum and maximum level marks TO CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL 1 Start the engine warm it up for several minutes and then turn it off 2 Place an oil pan under the engine to collect the used oil 3 Remove the engine oil filler cap and the engine oil drain bolt to drain the oil from the crankcase 4 Install the washer and the engine oil drain bolt and then tighten the drain bolt to the specified torque 5 Refill with the specified amount of the recom mended engine oil and then install and tighten the oil filler cap Type API SH SAE10W40 JASO MA Capacity 1 1L 0 1L IDLE SPEED Good carburetion is the key of engine performance Keep the original condition of the carburetor as set in the factory Pay attention to these two items for adjustment throttle cable clearance and idling IDLING ADJUSTMENT 1 Keep the vehicle on flat surface 2 Start the engine and warm up the engine for sever al minutes 3 Clip the

10. wheel can be adjusted in compliance with the driv er s weight and loading condition driving method 11 12 OQ KEE WAY and road conditions Adjust when vehicle it is stable on the main stand or side stand turn the preload ring to the place required TORQUE VALUE Upper fixing bolt 37 44N m Lower fixing bolt 22 29N m 5 stages adjustable Kick starting lever is on the right side of engine X NOTICE After starting the engine check on the lever and make sure it is back to its normal position to drive safely REAR BRAKE PEDAL Step the rear brake pedal to brake the rear wheel Brake light will turn on while rear brake is in use Kick Starting Lever Rear Brake Pedal SHIFT PEDAL Slow down the vehicle when turning to the low gear Revving up the engine slightly to shift gears in more smooth way to avoid damaging gears PRE OPERATION CHECKS Inspect your vehicle each time you use it to make sure the vehicle is in safe operating condition Always follow the inspection and maintenance pro cedures and schedules described in the Owner s Manual WARNING Failure to inspect or maintain the vehicle prop erly increases the possibility of an accident or equipment damage Do not operate the vehicle if you find any problem If a problem cannot be corrected by the procedures provided in this manual have the vehicle inspected by a dealer Before using this vehicle check the following

HE BRAKE PADS The front and rear brake pads if equipped must be checked for wear at the intervals specified in the periodic maintenance and lubrication chart Each brake pad is provided with wear indicator grooves which allow you to check the brake pad wear without having to disassemble the brake To check the brake pad wear check the wear indicator grooves If a brake pad has worn to the point that the wear indicator grooves were mostly disappeared have a dealer replace the brake pads as a set 23 24 OQ KEE WAY BRAKE FLUID IF EQUIPPED The vehicle uses the disc brake Adjustment is finished before delivery Contact dealer if any prob lem Recommended brake fluid DOT 4 A WARNING In case of drinking the brake fluid by mistake or contacting with eye or skin wash with a large amount of water and seek medical advice immediately if in a serious condition Don t forget to check the amount level in the brake fluid reservoir Add appropriate brake fluid if neces sary Minimum level mark CHECKING THE BATTERY Ask the dealer to add electrolyte for normal battery Have a dealer charge the battery as soon as pos sible if it seems to have discharged Keep in mind that the battery tends to discharge more quickly if the vehicle is equipped with optional electrical accesso ries 12V7Ah 12N7 4A REPLACING THE FUSES AND BULBS If a fuse or bulb for the individual circuits is blown replace it a

15. all of its con trols e Many accidents have been caused by error of the vehicle operator A typical error made by the operator is veering wide on a turn due to excessive speed or under cornering insufficient lean angle for the speed e Always obey the speed limit and never travel faster than legal speed limit e Always signal before turning or changing lanes Make sure that other motorists can see you e The posture of the operator and passenger is important for proper control e The operator should keep both hands on the han dlebar and both feet on the operator footrests during operation to maintain control of the vehicle e The passenger should always hold onto the opera tor the seat strap or grab bar if equipped with both hands and keep both feet on the passenger foot rests Never carry a passenger unless he or she can firmly place both feet on the passenger footrests e Never ride under the influence of alcohol or other drugs e This vehicle is designed for on road use only It is not suitable for off road use Protective apparel The majority of fatalities from vehicle accidents are KEEWAY the result of head injuries The use of a safety helmet is the most critical factor in the prevention or reduc tion of head injuries e Always wear an approved helmet e Wear a face shield or goggles Wind in your unprotected eyes could contribute to an impairment of vision that could delay seeing a hazard e The use of a
16. ce heat and deposits will cause any spark plug to slowly erode it should be removed and checked in accordance with the periodic mainte nance In addition the condition of the spark plug can reveal the condition of the engine The porcelain insulator around the center electrode of the spark plug should be a medium to light tan the ideal color when the vehicle is ridden normally If the spark plug shows a distinctly different color the engine could be operating improperly Do not attempt to diagnose such problems yourself Instead have a dealer check the vehicle If the spark plug shows signs of electrode erosion and excessive carbon or other deposits it should be replaced Before installing a spark plug the spark plug gap should be measured with thickness gauge and if necessary adjusted to specification OS KEE WAY Type NGK DPR7EA or TORCH D7RTC Gap 0 6 0 7mm Clean the surface of the spark plug gasket and its mating surface and then wipe off any grime from the spark plug threads ENGINE OIL The engine oil level should be checked before each ride In addition the oil must be changed at the inter vals specified in the periodic maintenance and lubri cation chart TO CHECK THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL 1 Place the vehicle on the main stand A slight tilt to the side can result in a false reading 19 20 OQ KEE WAY 2 Start the engine warm it up for several minutes and then turn it off 3 Wait a few

20. jacket substantial shoes trousers gloves etc is effective in preventing or reducing abrasions or lacerations e Never wear loose fitting clothes otherwise they could catch on the control levers or wheels and cause injury or an accident e Always wear protective clothing that covers your legs ankles and feet The engine or exhaust sys tem become very hot during or after operation and can cause burns e A passenger should also observe the above pre cautions Avoid Carbon Monoxide Poisoning All engine exhaust contains carbonmonoxide a deadly gas Breathing carbon monoxide can cause headaches dizziness drowsiness nausea confu sion and eventually death Carbon Monoxide is a colorless odorless tasteless gas which may be present even if you do not see OQ KEE WAY or smell any engine exhaust Deadly levels of carbon monoxide can collect rapidly and you can quickly be overcome and unable to save yourself Also deadly levels of carbon monoxide can linger for hours or days in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas If you experience any symptoms of carbon monoxide poi soning leave the area immediately get fresh air and SEEK MEDICAL TREATMENT e Do not run engine indoors Even if you try to venti late engine exhaust with fans or open windows and doors carbon monoxide can rapidly reach danger ous levels e Do not run engine in poorly ventlated or partially enclosed areas such as barns garages e Do not run engine outd
