Right click at the top of the selection 3 Select Delete Items from the pop up menu Recurring Schedules In addition to the Transfer Once schedule option you can schedule recurring transfers The available options are e Transfer Weekly Select the week day the transfer should occur e Transfer Monthly Select the months the transfer should occur You can also select first last day of the week select a specific day on the month or the Nth day of the month For these options you can select the time of transfer Options are e At The transfer occurs at a certain time of day e Every The transfer is repeated every Nth sec min hour between selected hours In addition to these options you can specify start and end times and dates for the schedule How to Use Quick Site List The fastest way to connect to an FTP site in 3D FTP is to right click with your mouse on top of the empty remote file pane You will see the list of the 10 most recently used sites and you can make the connection by simply selecting the site name from the pop up menu You can access the same list when you click down arrow next to Connect toolbar button How to Use Proxy and Firewall The access to FTP Servers is usually restricted in company networks A company network is normally connected to the Internet via a proxy or firewall server and in order to establish an FTP connection you must tell 3D FTP what proxy and firewall settings to use If you access the I

SiteDesigner Technologies Inc 34 3D FTP Send a server command To quickly send a custom command to the server 1 Select Commands gt Custom Commands gt Send and Edit Custom Commands from the menu This menu is also available by right clicking the remote file listing 2 Enter the command you want to send to the server in the Enter server command field 3 Click the Send button You can access previously entered commands by selecting from the drop down list Create a new custom command If you need a send a specific server command often or you want to send a sequence of commands it makes sense to save it for later reuse 1 Select the Commands gt Custom Commands gt Send and Edit Custom Commands from the menu This menu is also available by right clicking the remote file listing 2 Click the New button 3 Enter the custom command identifier to the Custom Command Label field You can add a character to make the next letter a short cut key shown underlined in the menu 4 Type the commands to the List of Server Commands text field You can enter multiple commands by separating them with linefeed press Enter Commands are sent to the server in the sequence they appear in this field and they can contain one or more macros see more about macros below 5 Click the OK button Now the new custom command is available for use in the Commands gt Custom Commands menu Refresh Remote File Listing Check

For this example we will select the index html local file Upload the file 1 Use your mouse to drag n drop the index html file from the local file pane to the remote file pane from left to right 2 Your local file is uploaded to the remote folder After the transfer is completed the file appears in the remote file pane Copyright SiteDesigner Technologies Inc Getting Started 13 3 5 Instant connection After you have connected to a site this site is added to the Most Recently Used site list To make a connection to one of these sites 1 Rightclick over the empty remote file pane 2 A pop up menu will appear with the list of Most Recently Used sites 3 Select one of the sites in the menu and you are instantly connected to it This is very quick and easy You can also access the Most Recently Used site list this way 1 Selectoneofthe sites in the Site menu or 2 Click the down arrow next to the Connect button on the toolbar 3 6 FAQ Q When I order 3D FTP where can I download the full version A There is no separate downloadable version for registered users but you convert the downloadable evaluation version to full version by entering the unlock key that you received via email at purchase to the Start up screen You can also enter the code via the Help gt Register menu option Q I cannot connect to any FTP site what s wrong A Any personal firewall software like Norton Personal Firewall
11. and you cannot make connections check the Use Passive Mode option and try again If you have no problems connecting but cannot see the remote file listing try using the Passive Transfer Mode If that does not help you need to enter the more advanced settings for the firewall connection below consult your network administrator for proper settings Use Proxy Firewall Server for FTP Connections In corporate environments special proxy or firewall servers normally monitor all Internet connections These servers limit the outgoing connections made to the servers outside the company and also restrict the incoming potentially harmful connections Proxy Firewall servers can be totally transparent meaning that no special settings are needed here to make connections But if that is not the case you need to enable proxy firewall use and enter proper connection parameters Notice that you cannot guess these parameters but you need to consult your network administrator for proper values Tell the administrator that you are going to perform an FTP file transfer and need the firewall login parameters for that Copyright O SiteDesigner Technologies Inc 44 3D FTP 6 2 HTTP Proxy Firewall Settings If HTTP transfers are monitored by a proxy or firewall server enter the connect parameters here Again consult your network administrator for more information Site Statistics These statistics show a summary of previous conn

16. second and therefore it controls the amount of network bandwidth 3D FTP uses Normally you can leave this limiter to its No limit default setting But sometimes in the middle of the large FTP transfer you may want to browse the internet with web browser or need to perform other actions that requires internet connection bandwidth In those cases you simply drag the speed limiter scroller to the limit you want to use like setting Speed limit 200 KB s means that 3D FTP uses maximum of 200 kilobytes per second for file transfers and rest of the bandwidth is free for other uses This way file transfer can continue in the background but it does not consume all the available bandwidth Copyright SiteDesigner Technologies Inc How to 23 5 4 NOTE Speed limiter remembers its setting over sessions and restores the set limit on the next program startup How to Schedule File Transfers You can schedule your file transfer to a later time When you are trying to download from heavily loaded FTP Servers it can be more convenient to download files later during the night when there is less Internet traffic You can have multiple items in the queue scheduled for transfer at different times and to from different servers There are two ways to schedule a file transfer Schedule 1 1 Select the files you want to download from the remote file list 2 Click the Schedule button in the toolbar 3 Select Schedule and e
17. selected on the local file list You can then upload selected files via the menu Command gt Upload or add them to the queue with the menu Command gt Add File s to Queue How to Sort File Listings You can sort items in file listings by using three different methods 1 Click the column header to sort the listing by clicked column The arrow next to the column name indicates the current sorting order Click the column header a second time to reverse the sorting order 2 Right click on top of the file listing to open the pop up menu Then select the sorting order from the Sort submenu 3 There is a shortcut to sort filenames by extension Press the Shift key and click the Filename column header This is the same as selecting the Sort by extension command from the pop up menu method 2 You can repeat the Shift Click method to reverse the sorting by extension Notice that file listings always list folders before files Saving sort order on exit By default the sorting order is saved on exiting the program and restored automatically on the next program start up You can change this via the menu Settings gt General Settings gt Other tab gt Remember file list sort order check box Deselecting the check box resets the sorting order to Sort by filename on program start up How to Download from Ratio Sites What are ratio sites Ratio Sites are FTP Servers that are configured in a special way They require you to upload files before y

19. toolbar Select the Add or Remove Buttons item Select the Customize item While the Customize window is open you can rearrange toolbar buttons with the mouse Just drag n drop the buttons to arrange them how you want them You can also drag n drop to rearrange menu items PON gt a How to Add Bookmarks The bookmark is a direct link to a certain folder on the local computer or on the remote FTP Server Bookmarks help you access the most used folders with a single mouse click For example you can add a bookmark to your web server pub public html folder and name it Web Pages Once created this bookmark appears in the Bookmark menu and you can connect to the web server and change to the pub public html folder by simply selecting the Web Pages bookmark in the Bookmark menu Bookmarks are also available in the Favorite Directories drop down list You can open this list by clicking the local or remote folder name Add a Local Bookmark Change to the local folder that you want to bookmark Select Add Bookmark from the Bookmark menu Select the Bookmark current local folder option Enter a name for the bookmark or just accept the default name Click the OK button ANROP This new local bookmark is now available in the Bookmark menu for later use All bookmarks are saved automatically Add a Remote Bookmark To add a bookmark connect to the FTP Server and change to the folder you want to bookmark Select Add Bookmark from the Bookmar
