CHNOLOGY Setup and Installation 4 Setup and Installation The section describes how to setup and install the Cobra TWA In general the connection and setup procedure at both transmitter and receiver ends is as follows At the transmitter end UR C DU S Connect the source video to the Cobra Series transmitter video input port which is an HD15 connector labeled VIDEO Adapter cables may be necessary if using component s video or composite signals Make your audio connections via the 1 8 3 5 mm AUDIO connector Connect the CATS cable to the rear of the transmitter Apply power on the transmitter The LED should light When the transmitter has been tested and is functioning normally complete installation into a US style wall box or low voltage J Box At the receiver end refer to the receiver user guide ERA Connect the VIDEO OUTPUT HD15 connector to the display unit Connecta 1 8 3 5 mm audio cable to the AUDIO OUTPUT connection Connect the CATS cable to the UTP connection Apply power The LED should light and video should appear on the display make sure display is powered ON To adjust video levels see the appropriate section in receiver user manual With regard to connecting the cables We recommend mounting and connecting all cabling to the Cobra TWA components before applying power Be sure that the CATS cable you intend to use has been tested to comply with the T568B wiring specification see Appen

9. dix A Setup and Installation 4 1 Connections on the Cobra TWA The Cobra TWA transmitter supports video and audio signals over CAT5 cable The audio signal is line level R L summed and powered speakers are required Figure 1 shows the Cobra TWA transmitter connections Audio In 12VDC IN Figure 1 Connecting the Cobra TWA Transmitter 4 2 Installing the Cobra TWA The Cobra TWA transmitter can be installed into a 1 gang electrical wall box and fits a standard Decora wall plate cover The installation must conform to national and local electrical codes 4 3 Powering the Cobra TWA The Cobra TWA is designed to be powered by a 12VDC power supply NOTE Observe proper polarity when connecting the power supply to the unit Ensure the positive lead is connected to the positive side of the connector Incorrectly wiring the power connector will damage the unit 4 KRAMER SIMPLE CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY Solutions to Common Problems 5 Solutions to Common Problems There are no user configurable settings on the Cobra TWA In most cases nearly every issue with the Cobra Series can be resolved by checking the CATS termination and making sure that it s pinned to the 568B wiring specification However there may be other problems that cause the system to not perform as it s designed Below are solutions to the most common installation errors Problem No video signal at the receiver Solution
