1. SEAI SP500 Series Printers Rewinder Model Installation sheet This installation sheet contains information for setting and rewinding the paper for rewinder model printers Please refer to the SP500 series User s Manual for informa tion not contained in this sheet 80871320 1 UNPACKING After unpacking the unit check that all the necessary accessories are included in the package For models with tear bar Printer Ribbon cartridge Roll paper guide Power cord User s manual Rear cover Switch blind Rewinder shaft 2 SETTING THE PAPER 2 1 For models with tear bar 1 2 3 4 Open the cover Important a Do not touch the print head immediately after printing as it can be ex tremely hot b Do not touch the cutter blade There is a cutter inside the paper outlet slot Not only should you not put your hand in the paper outlet slot while printing is in progress never put your hand into the outlet even when printing is not in progress Cut off the front edge of the roll paper perpendicularly Confirm that the power of the printer is turned on While observing the direction of the roll set the paper roll into the hol low as shown fy AA Roll paper 5 Insert the edge of the paper into the paper feeder black plastic part If inserted correctly the edge of the paper will pass through the paper exit 6 Insert the top edge of the pap2. er into the tear bar slot then mount the cover by reversing the procedure for opening the cover in step 1 above Note When the paper end mark appears on the paper replace the roll paper before it runs out 7 After the automatic paper feed has been completed the POWER lamp green on the operating panel will blink POWER lamp 8 Pass the leading edge of the paper through the slit in the rewinder shaft until it extends 3 to 4 centimeters beyond it 3to4cm D 9 Fold the paper back so that it is held in place by the slit ry 10 Wind the paper around the spool for 2 turns Note Use care when winding the paper so that it does not become loose Also use care so that the right edged of the paper does not come in contact with the tab side of the rewinder shaft 11 Grasp the center of the paper with your fingers to keep it from coming off of the rewinder and then set the rewinder shaft in the frame for the rewinder 12 Turn the rewinder shaft clockwise to take up the slack in the paper Caution If the paper tends to slack during use use the same procedures to take up that slack 13 After cutting the upper ply with the mechanical cutter close the cover and press the FEED button one time Becomes a allowable print status and complete the setting 2 2 For models with auto cutter 1 Open the cover Important a Do not touch the print head immediately after printing as it can be ex
