1. 5 Connect the female end of the power cord to the monitor and the male end to a power outlet 6 Turn on the monitor and the computer 12 3 3 Adjusting The Monitor With The Tilt Swivel Base The LaCie electron19bluelV Monitor comes with a tilt swivel base that enables you to position the monitor with the best angle and tilt for maximum viewing comfort see section 3 5 Location Considerations for more information on ideal monitor placement Screen Position Adjustment Adjust the tilt and rotation of the monitor by placing your hands at opposite sides of the case You can adjust the monitor 90 right or left 10 up or 5 down as shown in Figure 1 Keep your fingers away from the pivot area of the tilt swivel base 3 4 Installing The LaCie Blue Hood The LaCie color enhancing hood guarantees the most accurate and consistant colors on the monitor by reducing the interference of surrounding light and by reducing light reflection and shadows The inside of the hood is made of a light absorbing plastic for the best possible result 1 Remove the white covers on the two Velcro tabs from the center panel of the hood Do not remove the tape covers from the Velcro on the side panels Do not separate the Velcro tabs as it will make final installation more difficult 2 Adhere the center panel of the hood to the top of the monitor The rear of the hood should be placed approximately 4 cm 1 5 inches from the front edge of the mo

10. 20 feet away and blink often e Adjust the monitor height so that the top of the screen is at or slightly below eye level Your eyes should look slightly downward when viewing the middle of the screen e Place the monitor away from strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields such as high capacity transformers electric motors large current power lines and steel pillars Magnetism can cause distortion in the picture and or color purity e Avoid covering the slots or openings of the monitor Allow adequate ventilation around the monitor so the heat from the monitor can properly dissipate Avoid putting the monitor into any enclosure that does not have adequate ventilation e Avoid exposing the monitor to rain excessive moisture or dust because this can cause a fire or shock hazard e Avoid placing the monitor or any other heavy object on the power cord Damage to the power cord can cause a fire or electrical shock e Handle the monitor with extreme care when transporting Ergonomic Considerations To realize the maximum ergonomic benefits we recommend the following e Adjust the brightness until the background raster disappears Do not position the Contrast control to its maximum setting Use the preset Size and Position controls with standard signals Use the preset Color Setting and Sides Left Right controls Use non interlaced signals with a vertical refresh rate between 75 160Hz 14 e Do not use primary color blue on a dark backgr

R Top Right BL Bottom Left BR Bottom Right or L R Left Right use the control buttons to fine tune the Corner Purity corrections Important Note We recommend that you perform Corner Purity correction while running a typical application such as a spreadsheet or text document 18 3 Tools 2 Ge Language OSD controls menus are available in six languages OSD Position You can choose where you would like the OSD controls menu to appear on the screen Selecting OSD Position allows you to manually adjust the O SD controls menu left right up and down OSD Turn Off The O SD controls menu will stay on as long as it is in use In the O SD Turn Off sub menu you can select how long the monitor waits after the last touch of a button for the OSD controls menu to disappear The preset choice is in 5 seconds step between 5 120 seconds OSD Lock Out This control completely locks out access to all OSD controls functions except Brightness and Contrast When attempting to activate OSD controls while in the lock out mode a screen will appear indicating that O SD controls are locked out To activate the OSD Lock Out function press SELECT then press and hold them down simultaneously To deactivate the O SD Lock Out press SELECT then press and hold them down simultaneously Off Mode Enable The Off Mode works normally and all stages of energy savings are utilized Disable The Off Mode reset the factory setting at ENABLE I
