E E Bulletin Number AS29 08 Page 1of5 Read amp Initial Subject Transfer Case Fluid Leak Manager Affected Models 2007 XL7 JC636 Parts Service CONDITION Automatic transmission fluid leaking from transfer case weep hole after vehicle sits overnight in tem peratures colder than 10 C CAUSE Transfer case intermediate shaft seal is leaking CORRECTION Raise the vehicle on a lift to inspect the transfer case weep hole for signs of automatic transmission fluid red leakage If leakage is found replace the intermediate shaft seal with the late type seal Follow the procedures described in the Transfer Case Replacement Transfer Case Disassemble Front Drive Seal Replacement and Transfer Case Assemble sections of the 2007 XL7 JC636 Service Manual and the Seal Installation Tips in this Service Bulletin If no leakage is found at the weep hole this bulletin does not apply Inspect for leakage at jay a transfer case Weep hole de ee a PARTS INFORMATION A late type transfer case intermediate seal 27813 7802 is required to complete the repair The late type seal can be identified by its green colour Early seals were blue or yellow A transfer case seal 29529 78 00 may be required if it becomes damaged while completing the repair Part Number Note Transfer case intermediate seal 27813 78J02 1 Transfer case seal 29529 78J00 Required if damaged during repair SPECIAL TOOL REQUIREM EN2.
