1. 8 309492 Service A SwitchTip and Guard Assembly 1 Perform Pressure Relief steps 1 3 of Cleanup 2 Engage trigger safety BS 3 Insert housing A into retaining nut B G Install metal seat C A e Install tip cylinder D in housing O C LS lt 0 8 a WN 4 Snap tip guard E into place Install screw F and secure tip guard to housing A ra Install gasket G in housing Install HD RAC assembly onto gun Minimum tip recommendation is o25 GHD Smaller tip sizes may cause poor performance 309492 9 10 309492 Service Clearing Tip Clogs 1 Release trigger put trigger safety ON Rotate SwitchTip Take trigger safety OFF and trigger gun to clear the clog ler point gun towards your hand or into a rag 2 Put trigger safety ON return SwitchTip to original position take trigger safety OFF and continue spraying Cleanup A Pressure Relief 1 Set pump switch OFF A Pressure Relief 2 Turn pressure to lowest setting Trigger gun to relieve pressure MATERIAL A Pressure Relief 3 Turn prime valve down 4 Remove guard and SwitchTip 309492 11 12 309492 Cleanup 5 Clean guard and SwitchTip in flushing fluid 6 Remove pump from material and place in flushing fluid Use water for water base ma terial and mineral spirits for oil base material 7 Set pump switch ON 8 Turn prime valve horizontal Cleanu2. 1 Connect appropriate Graco high pressure hose to sprayer Tighten securely 2 Connect hose to gun Hose Recommended 1 2 in x 15 m 3 8 in x 3 m Minimum 3 8 in x 15 m Tighten securely 4 Remove tip guard Setup 5 Fill throat packing nut with TSL to prevent premature packing wear Do this each time you spray and store Approximate Fill Level 309492 5 6 Startup 1 Set pump switch OFF 2 Put pump in flushing fluid 3 Turn prime valve down Turn pressure control to lowest pressure 4 Set pump switch ON Pump is now active 309492 Startup 5 Increase pressure enough to start pump stroking and allow fluid to circulate for 15 seconds turn pressure down turn prime valve horizontal 6 Take spray gun trigger safety OFF Tp safety OFF 309492 7 Startup 7 Hold gun against grounded metal flushing pail Trigger gun and increase fluid pressure slowly until pump runs smoothly Note Inspect fittings for leaks Do not stop leaks with your hand or a rag If leaks occur turn sprayer OFF immediately Do Pressure Relief in Cleanup 1 3 on page 11 Tighten leaky fittings Repeat Startup 1 5 If no leaks continue to trigger gun until system is thoroughly flushed Proceed to 6 8 Place pump in material pail 9 Trigger gun again into flushing fluid pail until paint appears Assemble tip and guard page 9
