Standard Operating Procedure Issued Reviewed Page Carleton Genie AWP 258 NE SOP Oct 26 06 Oct 26 06 1 1 Department of Physical Plant Aerial Work Platform 002 1 Purpose amp Scope The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that all operators can safely and effectively use the Genie AWP 25S Aerial Work Platform 2 Introduction The Genie AWP 25S is an AC powered personnel lift designed to vertically elevate a single operator up to 25 into the air to perform maintenance repair and construction activities Given the potential hazards associated with working at heights all personnel required to use the Genie AWP 25S must first be trained to operate it safely and effectively 3 Training Requirements The training program for the Genie AWP 25S contains the following elements 3 1 Theory The Genie AWP Super Series Operator s Manual is the primary training document for the AWP 25S All operators must read each section of the manual in detail and then review the information with a competent person to ensure understanding 3 2 Practical Training After completing the operator s manual review each operator must receive practical instruction on the safe and effective use of the Genie AWP 25S During this practical instruction all operators must set up and use the Genie AWP 25S as detailed in the operator s manual 4 Documentation The Task Matrix below must be used to ensure that all training eleme
