3. 11 1 3 Repairing replacing tyres or inner tube e Remove the front wheel see page 59 chapt 11 1 1 e Unscrew all Allen screws 1 e Remove the tyre with inner tube from the wheel rim halves e Repair inner tube and replace or insert new Reassembling is done in reverse order Note e If the old inner tube is repaired and re used and has become wet during repair you can make replacement easier by sprinkling the inner tube with a little talcum powder e Insert the wheel rim halves from outside into the tyre e Pump up the tyres a little e Insertthe Allen screw once again and screw the wheel rims together tightly e Check that the tyre is seated correctly once again e Pump the tyre up to the prescribed pressure e Check that the tyre is seated correctly once again e Screw the valve cap back on e Refitthe wheel 11 1 4 Replacing the wheel fork A CAUTION Incorrect reassembly can damage the bearings or cause the steering wheels to fall out e The single row angular ball bearings are not the same on either side For this reason they may only be fitted with the correct side toward the outside visible e Follow the fitting manual correctly e Remove the front wheel e Lever the plastic cap off with a screwdriver e Unscrew hexagon cap nut e Remove washer and spring washer e Remove the front wheel with wheel fork downwards 60 Invacare STORM SERVICE MANUAL IMPORTANT ASSEMBLY

Material damage hazard The valve can become blocked by the puncture protection gel and be unusable e During the following work you should always hold the valve up so that the puncture protection gel cannot enter the valve A WARNING Loss of a wheel If the bolts which secure the wheel are not tightened firmly enough or if the threaded holes in the casing are damaged by being tightened too much the wheel can come loose during travel e Always position the nuts manually in their holes when fitting the drive wheels e Never use electrical or pneumatic screwdrivers e Tighten the Allen screws with a torque of 25 e Nordlock washers must be fitted exactly as they were before removal A WARNING Uncontrolled movement The wheelchair will drive erratically if the GB Motors are not calibrated after being replaced e Make sure to calibrate the GB Motors after replacing them Note If motors become defective within their guarantee period they will either be replaced or repaired on Invacare s decision This guarantee does not cover pay for working hours We also accept no liability for physical injuries or unauthorised repairs Invacare s sole obligation and its exclusive remedy during this guarantee is limited to such repair and or replacement measures V Requirements iu e Open ended spanner 6 mm Torque wrench Repair kit for tyre repair or a new inner tube Talcum powder Screw block
