DAMAGE Before re installing the back of the enclosure follow all provided instructions to ensure water resistant integrity is maintained Failure to follow these instructions can result in equipment damage m Re position the back of the enclosure as described in the section Closing the device Note Schneider Electric recommends that you keep these insulated tabs for occasional maintenance operations Once the battery ies is connected the SCADAPack 50 starts in its Transport mode In this mode neither data capture nor SMS transmission is possible see Commissioning Wake up SCADAPack 50 section SIM card installation NOTICE HAZARD OF EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION The operator should follow all instructions when opening enclosure to perform any maintenance including battery or SIM card replacement Failure to follow these instructions can result in equipment damage NOTICE HAZARD OF LOSS OF SIM CARD FUNCTIONALITY Before installing the SIM card you should verify its PIN code and if it has been enabled Failure to follow these instructions can result in the SIM card being locked out permanently If this occurs you will need to request the PUK code from the cellular provider NOTICE HAZARD OF LOSS OF SIM CARD FUNCTIONALITY Do not insert or extract a SIM card while the SCADAPack 50 is in communication mode Indicator light ON or blinking Failure to follow these instructions can result in equipmen

Once installed it is recommended that a diagnostic SMS be sent by the SCADAPack 50 This verification requires that m The SIM card is activated by the operator m The phone number of the host server is configured in the SCADAPack 50 Hold a magnet for 10 seconds on the magnetic detection area to send a diagnostic SMS message m While the magnet is held in this position the green indicator blinks once per second m After 10 seconds the green indicator remains lit and the yellow indicator blinks to indicate that the diagnostic SMS is being transmitted m At this time the magnet may be withdrawn from the detection area Once the SMS is sent yellow indicator stops flashing the SCADAPack 50 changes to the Sleep mode m The green indicator then changes to a very low intensity blink state of once per second Note This flash state can be difficult to observe in a very bright environment The host application must be pre configured to receive the diagnostic SMS from the SCADAPack 50 with the following information m Telephone number of SIM card installed in the SCADAPack 50 The host application will then be able to verify m The arrival of the diagnostic SMS m The serial number of the SCADAPack 50 that sent the SMS m The battery ies voltage normally between 3 and 3 2 V m The radio signal level of the transmission 50 to 60 dB Excellent 61 to 69 dB Good 70 to 79 dB Medium 80 to

18. ck 50 By default the SCADAPack 50 is factory shipped with battery ies connected in Transport Mode to reduce battery consumption to a minimum before installation While in Transport Mode one low intensity flash every 2 seconds neither data capture nor SMS transmission is possible To awaken the SCADAPack 50 from Transport Mode hold a magnet located in the infrared interface supplied by Schneider Electric against the left side of the device for approximately 5s as shown in the diagram m Magnet detection is indicated by the green light quickly blinking m When the SCADAPack 50 is activated the green indicator light will turn solid m Once activated the SCADAPack 50 will be in Awake mode for 2 minutes awaiting potential IrDA communication m If no local communication is initiated within this time the SCADAPack 50 reverts to Sleep Mode a low intensity green flash Installation of the communication local interface Schneider Electric provides a USB IrDA cable which can be used with any PC that has a compatible USB port As with all USB devices it requires drivers which need to be installed as per the procedure described in the User Manual The IrDA link should be positioned as shown in the diagram in order to communicate with the SCADAPack 50 The custom holding clip provided with the SCADAPack 50 can be used to keep the IrDA sensor in place thereby freeing both hands for the computer Verifying operation
