91. 1993 2008 9 Report of National Research Institute of Fire and Disaster No 105 2008 Investigation results on the Causes of the Fire of the House Transformer at Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear Power Station Abstract Hiroyuki Tamura Masato Fujiwara and Koh ichi Kasahara Accepted July 4 2008 The Niigata Chuetsu Oki Earthquake M6 8 occurred on July 16 2007 In Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear Power Station a fire occurred at the House Transformer 3B of Unit No 3 We report the outline of a fire of the House Transformer and the causes of the fire The main contents are as follows At the House Transformer 3B because the secondary connecting bus of the transformer was subsided against the foundation of the transformer the secondary connecting bus ruptured Then the bushing of the secondary side of the transformer ruptured and the insulated oil leaked out the ducts of the secondary connecting bus And the duct contacted to the connecting terminals arc discharge occurred between the duct of the connecting bus and the connecting terminals in the duct The insulated oil leaked ignited by the heat of arc discharge Kawasaki City Fire Department Tokyo Fire Department 105 2008 9 MEZ 20 7 11 2008
