143. website The importance of this type of exhibition would be now in progress The Nanzan University Museum of Anthropology has also tried to make a database of items at the opportunity of Open Research This attempt however is en route and we hope to accomplish the device in near future This paper reports the present status of database making in the museum To make a database both photos and Excel data are required In this paper we first oversee the amount of available photos and their contents Then data items for the database connected with photos are examined At this time we established an index for working on construction of the database examined and extracted the items of data for the index After that we made an integral format for archaeological ethnological and domestic items basing on the data items then suggested some problems for each issue and proposed how to solve those problems There remain many problems and further examination is required on the use of database and the extraction of data items However the contribution to academic fields and further improvement of museum function are expected by solving such problems and the exhibition of database We also examined some issues in both working and curatorial level from a practical point of view some changes would take place after the introduction of database Finally we propose a prospect on the database exhibition of collection items in our museum in future 71
