7. about the serviceable life of the filter elements Normally the filter carts are equipped with a clogging indictor If not we advise retrofitting the filter system with suitable contamination indicators A clogging indicator is essential particularly when the device is frequently used for pumping from heavily contaminated containers Since the installation method and type of the clogging indicators differ depending on the type of the filter system the precise instructions are listed in the following for each specific type The clogging indicator 1s attached directly to the filter housing above the housing block When the clogging indicator moves into the red zone the element should be changed If the differential pressure becomes too great a bypass valve on the pump opens automatically The opening pressures of the bypass valves are specified in the respective Technical Data N To read the clogging indicator a pumping medium must flow through the filter cartridges appropriate personal protective equipment gloves goggles etc should be worn In addition the work area is to be protected against any liquid running out Likewise leak proof transport containers and if necessary binding agents are to be provided Please note that residual amounts of the pumping medium remain in the used element For this reason 4 4 1 Description of the element change procedure SMFS U 060 SMFS U 110 To change the filter element please proceed as
