RIB Mercury Outboard Operating Instructions After Use L NN BB W Fit the water ear muffs over the cooling water intakes turn on the water just sufficiently does not require full pressure NEVER START THE ENGINE WITHOUT AVAILABLE COOLING WATER Start the engine and idle for 5 minutes to flush the internal water passages checking for the stream of cooling water coming out of the telltale and exhaust Stop engine with the ignition key to OFF remove water ear muffs Wash down the engine to remove seawater salt Turn OFF the Red Battery Isolation Switch Fill in the OPERATION REPORT adding a note of condition and any malfunction or concerns of the Engine and or the Rescue Craft as well as making a verbal report to the Club Equipment Officer or a Committee Member
