J2 EHDI connector J3 FDD connector J4 serial port JS serial port J6 parallel port JP1 to JP9 Reference to section 2 2 2 INSTALLATION 2 1 System needed for installation The user must prepare additional devices to install ASI 5105 These additional devices depend on what functions supported by ASI 5105 you want to use These devices are e 51 4 or3 1 2 FDD IDE driver e Parallel communication device such as printer Serial communication device such as MODEM 2 2 Jumper Setting on ASI 5105 JP1 Fixed disk LED display Jp2 1f JP2 is short on 1 2 all the interfaces on ASI 5105 are enabled don t care the setting of JP4 to JP9 and J6 responds to LPT1 J5 responds to COM1 J4 responds to COM2 If JP2 is short on 2 3 all the interfaces on ASI 5105 are con figured by JP4 through JP9 Following table illustrates all dif ferent configuration J6 responds to LPT1 LPTO disable JS responds tolJ4 responds tol COM1 COM2 COM1 disable COM2 COM1 disable COM1 disable COM2 COM2 disable disable disable E E E E Ss dE E O E two FDDs connected to J3 are all enable two FDDs connected to J3 are all disable E top position is pin 1 2 3 Disable EHDI Ifyou want to use any HDD interface other than ASI 5105 just let EHDI daisy chain cable and J2 disconnect2. 2 4 Procedure of installation This section outlines procedures required prior to actual physi cal installation of ASI 5105 I O card in your computer system CAUTION y BE SURE THAT THE POWER IS OFF BEFORE PER FORMING ANY HARDWARE CONFIGURATION CHANGE ON YOUR COMPUTER 1 Open the cover of your computer x 2 Remove bracket of blank slot which you want to insert ASI 5105 3 Connect any one of daisy chain cables to J2 J3 J4 If you want to use relative devices Make sure that each cable s pin 1 be match to pin 1 of each relative connector 4 Connect other end of daisy chain cable to your necessary devices 5 Insert ASI 5105 into I O expansion slot 6 Secure ASI 5105 with bracket screw 7 Connect fixed disk drive activity LED in the front panel of your computer case if any to JP1 8 Close the cover of your system 9 Connect any D type connector of relative devices to J5 or J6 10 Connect relative devices to other end of cable with D type conntector Reference to your system manual for more detail informa tion to do it 3 OPERATION 3 1 Configuration of your computer Once you finished hardware installation of ASI 5105 I O card power on the system and enter SETUP program which provided by your computer system select correct type and number of IDE drive and FDD 3 2 Start to operation Save your confiuration in your computer CMOS RAM and reboot computer so you can boot your system and start
