5. m maximum height of grip 50 mm detail of groove Figure 1 i 1197 Note when using the safety anchor e The quality of the profile the clamp seizes upon must be visually checked for cracks or other signs of quality defects e Is the width of the floor slabs 1 2 metres e Does the gripping plate fit fully into the groove e Is the safety anchor suitable for the purpose you are using it for e Is the condition of the safety anchor still suitable for use for example Are the straps not damaged or torn Is the rope in the clamp not damaged e Is the spring still putting the clamp in the groove under tension e Does the harness fit the person who is using it e Test that the clamp functions with the floor element by pulling on the anchor rope with each placing COOPERATION WITH THE CRANEDRIVER During the supplying of the concrete slabs the crane driver must be aware of the fact that the riggers are restrained in their movement Leenstra Machine en Staalbouw B V 16 June 2008 2 7 User manual safety anchor APV 018025A USE OF THE SAFETY ANCHOR The law prescribes using a safety device when working at a level above 2 5 metres The safety anchor is mandatory in areas where other preventive measures are not possible or functional Safety harness see figure 2 Put the harness on at a safe place Figure 2 e Pick up the harness at rear D ring 3 make sure the straps are not twisted e Put your arms
6. through the shoulder straps 1 e Fasten chest clip 2 adjust until the shoulders straps 1 are pulled to vertical e Adjust the position of the rear D ring 3 using the straps 4 until the D ring is situated right between the shoulder blades e Pull the leg straps 5 forward between the legs and put them through the thread buckles 6 until they fit comfortably around the thighs e Make sure all loose straps are pulled through the tags The safety anchor may not be used if the harness does not fit and is therefore not suitable for the user Leenstra Machine en Staalbouw B V 16 June 2008 3 7 User manual safety anchor APV 018025A Lanyard with shock absorber Figure 3 Initial check of the shock absorber with lanyard see figure 3 e Before each use check if the lanyard is sound e Check if the outer cover sleeve of the shock absorber is sound and that no webbing has been pulled from the sleeve e When the above mentioned is not the case the safety anchor may not be used e The total length from centre of anchor up to D ring of the harness is 2 0 3 0 4 2 7 metres Bear this in mind when placing the clamp see figure 5 a and b Figure 4 Leenstra Machine en Staalbouw B V 16 June 2008 4 7 User manual safety anchor APV 018025A e Fasten the lanyard and shock absorber 12 with connector 7 to D ring 3 Do not fasten it upside down e Fasten the connector 8 to the white red l
