18. ays A true pulse is defined by a high peak flow 4 to 10 LPM for a very short duration of time 0 2 to 0 4 seconds It also controls the delivered minute volume which remains consistent between 15 and 35 BPM The total oxygen volume delivered minute volume the patient receives is always the same as the patient s breath rate decreases the pulse volume increases and conversely when breath rate increases The GOX flows and accumulates in the conserver s reservoir housed in the dome at a rate defined by the pulse selector setting The conserver senses the patient s inspiratory effort by means of a thin membrane The membrane opens a slave valve and in turn releases the contents of the reservoir to the patient This all happens in less then 0 5 seconds The delivered minute volume is controlled by the setting the volume of the reservoir and the time between breaths The cryogenic container is another unique feature of the EasyMate Portable It is the first and only truly no spill container This is achieved by the use of a simple dip tube extending to the center of the container Constructed like a stationary Reservoir it is very durable and can stand up to the toughest patient use The method to convert LOX to GOX is also a very unique feature ofthe EasyMate Portable There are no warming coils economizer valves tubing or tubing connections of any kind on the exterior The LOX is converted to GOX by means of the container s NER and its patented therm
