2. from the light kit fitter to the wires from the switch cup of the fan motor assembly by connecting the molded adaptor plugs together blue to black white to white Carefully tuck all wires and splic BREAK 8 Re install the bottom cover and finial and finger tighten the finial CAUTION Be sure that the fan switch chain does not make contact with the light bulbs Ceiling Figure 11 es into the switch cup 3 Align the three serrated head screws on the switch cup cover of the light kit fitter with the three key slots in the switch cup Make sure the notch in the switch cup cover of the light kit fitter clears the reversing switch in the switch cup Position the light kit fitter on the switch cup and turn it clockwise un til it locks Tighten the three serrated head screws that were loosened in step 1 to se cure the light kit fitter Figure 12 4 Remove the rubber washer hex nut bottom cover and the finial from the light kit fitter Figure 13 5 With power off install two 60 watt maxi mum candelabra base bulbs included into the light kit fitter sockets Reversing Switch Serrated Head Screw 3 Figure 12 7 A if Fan Without Light Kit Switch Cup Sy y 1 In order to use the fan without the light kit Bulbs remove the switch cup cover from the top Provided j f of the light kit fitter by removing the center ran Switch hex nut inside the switch cup cover and ain then thread

LE FOR USE WITH THIS FAN Finishing the Fan Installation 1 Remove the two screws on two diagonal sides from the top of the mounting plate and loosen the other two screws Figure 8 Align the two key slots on the top of the motor housing with the two screws on the mounting plate push the motor housing up and turn it clockwise to lock in plate tighten the two screws Install the two screws that were removed in step 1 into the remaining two holes and tighten firmly four screws Loosen But Do Not Remove Figure 8 Attaching the Fan Blades NOTE Your fan blade are reversible Select the blade side finish which best accentuates your decor 1 Attach blade to blade bracket using the screws supplied Figure 9 Please note that the rubber washers are pre attached to the blade bracket Start a screw into the bracket Repeat for the two remaining screws Tighten each screw securely Fasten the blade assembly to the motor by inserting the alignment posts into the slot on the bottom of the motor and tightening the motor screws Please note that the mo tor screws are pre attached into the blade brackets Figure 10 Repeat steps 1 3 for the remaining blades Rubber Washers Figure 9 Figure 10 Blade Balancing All blades are grouped by weight Because nat ural woods vary in density the fan may wobble even though the blades are weight matched The following procedure should correct most fan
7. ctrical Code ANSI NFPA 70 1999 and local electrical codes Electrical installation should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician WARNING To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock do not use this fan with any solid state speed control device WARNING TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE ELECTRIC SHOCK OR PERSONAL INJURY MOUNT FAN TO OUTLET BOX MARKED ACCEPTABLE FOR FAN SUPPORT WITH THE SCREWS PROVIDED WITH THE OUTLET BOX The outlet box and support structure must be securely mounted and capable of reliably supporting a minimum of 35 pounds Use only UL Listed outlet boxes marked FOR FAN SUPPORT The fan must be mounted with a minimum of 7 feet clearance from the trailing edge of the blades to the floor Do not operate reversing switch while fan blades are in motion Fan must be turned off and blades stopped before reversing blade direction Avoid placing objects in path of the blades To avoid personal injury or damage to the fan and other items be cautious when working around or cleaning the fan 9 Do not use water or detergents when cleaning the fan or fan blades A dry dust cloth or lightly dampened cloth will be suitable for most cleaning After making electrical connections spliced conductors should be turned upward and pushed carefully up into outlet box The wires should be spread apart with the grounded conductor and the equipment grounding conductor on one si

11. r Forward A downward air flow creates a cooling effect as shown in Figure 15 This allows you to set your air conditioner on a higher setting without affecting your comfort Cool weather Reverse An upward air flow moves warm air off the ceiling are as shown in Figure 16 This allows you to set your heating unit on a lower setting with out affecting your comfort aS A Figure 15 y 7 a Figure 16 Operating Your Fan 9 Care of Your Fan Here are some suggestions to help you maintain your fan 1 Because of the fan s natural movement some connections may become loose Check the support connections brackets and blade attachments twice a year Make sure they are secure It is not necessary to remove fan from ceiling Clean your fan periodically to help maintain its new appearance over the years Do not use water when cleaning this could damage the motor or the wood or possibly cause an electrical shock Use only a soft brush or lint free cloth to avoid scratching the finish The plating is sealed with a lacquer to minimize discoloration or tarnishing Warning Make sure the power is off before cleaning your fan You can apply a light coat of furniture pol ish to the wood for additional protection and enhanced beauty Cover small scratches with a light application of shoe polish There is no need to oil your fan The motor has permanently lubricated sealed ball bearing
12. s Troubleshooting Problem Fan will not start Fan sounds noisy Solution 1 2 Check main and branch circuit fuses or breakers Check line wire connections to the fan and switch wire connections in the switch housing CAUTION Make sure main power is off Make sure all motor housing screws are snug Make sure the screws that attach the fan blade bracket to the motor hub are tight Make sure wire nut connections are not rattling against each other or the interior wall of the switch housing CAUTION Make sure power is off Allow a 24 hour breaking in period Most noises associated with a new fan disappear during this time If using the Ceiling Fan light kit make sure the screws securing the glassware are tight Check that the light bulb is also secure Make sure the canopy is a short distance from the ceiling It should not touch the ceiling Make sure your outlet box is secure and rubber isolator pads were used between the mounting bracket and outlet box Make sure pull chains are not vibrating against glass or housing WARNING MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF AT THE ELECTRICAL PANEL BOX BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO MAKE ANY REPAIRS REFER TO THE SECTION MAKING ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS 10 Care of Your Fan and Troubleshooting NET GROSS CUBE FAN SIZE SPEED VOLTS AMPS WATTS CFM WEIGHT WEIGHT FEET a fom Pon o Ts Po CT These are approximate measures They do not include Amps and Wattage used by the light

14. the switch cup cover out of the threaded nipple on the top of the light kit fitter Remove three serrated head screws y 2 Press the plastic plug provided into the p plus errated Head center hole of the switch cup cover Plastic Plug Screw 3 3 Align the three screw holes in the switch cup cover with the three key slots in the switch cup Make sure the notch in the switch cup cover clears the reversing YOUR FAN SWITCH CUP COVER MAY NO switch in the switch cup refer to Figure 12 LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THE ILLUSTRATION pl 8 HOWEVER THE INSTALLATION IS THE SAME Figure 14 on page 7 Figure 13 4 Position the switch cup cover onto the switch cup and install the three serrated head screws that were removed in step 1 Turn the switch cup cover clockwise until it locks tighten the three serrated head screws Turn on the power and check the operation of the fan The pull chain controls the fan speed as follows 1 pull High 2 pulls Medium 3 pulls Low and 4 pulls Off The other pull chain controls the light On and Off Speed Settings for warm or cool weather depend on factors such as room size ceil ing height number of fans and so on The reversing switch installed in the switch cup refer to figure 12 on page 7 controls direction forward switch down or re verse switch up NOTE WAIT FOR FAN TO STOP COMPLETELY BEFORE SETTING SLIDE SWITCH TO REVERSE THE DIRECTION OF BLADE ROTATION Warm weathe
15. wobble Check after each step 1 Check that all blade screws are secure 2 Most fan wobble problems are caused when blade levels are unequal Check this level by selecting a point on the ceiling above the tip of one of the blades Measure from a point on the center of each blade to the point on the ceiling Measure this distance as shown in Figure 11 Rotate the fan until the next blade is positioned for measurement Repeat for each blade Measurement deviations should be within 1 8 Run the fan for 10 minutes Use the enclosed Bladed Balancing Kit if the blade wobble is still noticeable Attaching the Light Kit amp Glass Bowl CAUTION To reduce the risk of electrical shock disconnect the electrical supply circuit to the fan before installing the light fixture 1 Loosen the three serrated head screws on the switch cup cover of the light kit fitter Position the glass bowl over the threaded nipple and pass the fan switch chain through the side hole in the glass bowl Re install the rubber washer and hex nut to the threaded nipple of the light kit fit ter to secure the glass bowl properly DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE HEX NUT OVERTIGHTENING THE HEX WARNING NUT MAY CAUSE THE GLASS TO TO REDUCE THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY DO NOT BEND THE BLADE HOLDERS WHILE INSTALLING BALANCING THE BLADES OR CLEANING THE FAN DO NOT INSERT FOREIGN OBJECTS BETWEEN ROTATING BLADES Figure 12 Connect the wires
