1. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION FOR 4172 WARNING SHUT POWER OFF AT FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER AVERTISSEMENT COUPER LE COURANT AU NIVEAU DES FUSIBLES OU DU DISJONCTEUR PREPARATION i 1 Carefully remove the fixture from the carton and Set A 021 150D check that all parts are included as shown in the D C Circular strap illustration Pe Le Ground screw l PSS gt E Mounting screws 3 2 Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and TEP Aa Junction box screws 2 remove old fixture including the mounting i hardware ASSEMBLING THE FIXTURE 3 Thread the nut G onto the nipple H and through the cap F thread the nipple H into the saddle E and tighten with the nut G 4 Slide the tube l cap J iron washer K plastic washer L glass M plastic washer N and iron washer O over the nipple H and secure with the nut P 5 Slide the cap Q cap R over the nipple H and secure with the cap S MOUNTING THE FIXTURE Fig 1 6 Insert junction box screws A Size 8 32 0 6 L into the circular strap B Secure circular strap B with junction box screws A The side of the mounting bar marked GND must face out CONNECTING THE WIRES Fig 2 7 At this point connect the electrical wires as shown in Fig 2 making sure that all wire connectors are secured If your outlet box has a ground wire green or bare copper connect the fixture s ground wire directly to the mounting plate us2. ing the green screw provided After the wires are connected tuck them carefully inside the outlet box COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION 8 Raise the ceiling cap D over the circular strap B and then secure it with mounting screws C Size 8 32 0 5 L 9 Install the light bulb s in accordance with the fixture s specification DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM WATTAGE RATING NE PAS DEPASSER LA PUISSANCE NOMINALE mere SURE MAXIMALE E WIRES WIRES Green or Bare Copper Ground Your installation is now complete Return the power to the junction box and test the fixture HOUSE WIRES Green or Bare Copper Ground Neutral UL american c US lighting LISTED association
