CA1 CA1 INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION OF ENTRANCE LOCKS IN NEW DOORS OR THE REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING LOCKS FOR USE ON DOORS 1 3 8 TO 1 3 4 35mm 45mm THICK TOOLS REQUIRED FOR NEW INSTALLATION 1 phillips head screwdriver 1 2 1 8 54mm hole saw eee iar FOR REPLACEMENT PA a arnuent 1 phillips head screwdriver 1 chisel FOLLOW ALL STEPS FOR REPLACEMENT OR ILLUSTRATIONS ARE SHOWN WITH ENTRANCE NEW CONSTRUCTION MODELS INSTALLATION IS SAME FOR PRIVACY AND PASSAGE MODELS AS WELL FOLLOW STEPS 3C 4C 5 6 7 8 9 and 10 FOR DO IT YOURSELF REPLACEMENT CYLINDRICAL CASE AFTER REMOVAL OF EXISTING LOCK INSIDE SLEEVE REPLACING EXISTING LOCKS Before beginning measure from centre of lock to door edge in order to check length of backset on existing lock The backset length of new lock is stated clearly on front of package If backset size is the same continue otherwise you ll have to replace lock with proper size backset Some models are supplied with adjust able latch which can fit 2 3 8 60mm or 2 3 4 a 70mm backset The adjustable latch was preset to INSIDE ROSE 2 3 8 60mm at factory If 2 3 4 70mm is required please follow the steps shown below INSIDE KNOB LATCH UNIT GUARDBOLT LATCHBOLT MOUNTING SCREWS Ry SCREW HOLE LATCH FACE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS l 1 MARK DOOR 2 DRILL HOLES Start approximately 36 l MARK FOR 1 914mm from floor Fold Drill 2 1 8 54mm hole throu2. gh door 25 4mm and apply template to face as marked for lockset HOLE IN edge of door and mark it is recommended that holes be drilled DOOR EDGE centre of door edge as from both sides to prevent splitting indicated on template Drill 1 25 4 mm hole in centre of Mark centre hole on door door edge for latch face through guide on MARK FOR 2 1 8 template 2 1 8 54mm 54mm HOLE ON NOTE Backset on door face must be HOLE 1 25 4mm DOOR FACE same as backset of lock 3 INSTALL LATCH insert latch in hole keeping it Chisel 1 8 3mm insert latch and tighten parallel to face of door Mark deep or until latch screws outline and remove face is flush with NOTE Latchbolt bevel door edge must face to closing direction CA1 CA1 CA1 CA1 4 INSTALL STRIKE l Cut out jamb 1 16 GUARD BOLT D Drill 1 25 4mm i 1 5mm deep for hole 1 2 12 7mm strike Tighten screws deep in door jamb on drill point for Guardbolt stops against strike i strike as illustrated Close door until latchbolt touches jamb to i preventing forcing when locate strike in jamb and centre line of strike door is closed Adjustable Open door and extend line from mark to door CAUTION To ensure proper lockset function tang on strike permits stop Measure one half of door thickness from Hole in jamb must be drilled a full bending in or out to door stop and vertically mark drill point centre 1 2 12 7mm deep eliminate too loose fit betwee
3. n door and for strike door stop 5 REMOVE INSIDE TRIM 6 ADJUST OUTSIDE ROSE 7 INSTALL LOCK a Use nail end of wrench provided to depress inside knob catch in hole of inside sleeve Adjust lock to fit door thickness by Latch unit must be in place before rotating outside rose installing lock Be sure lock housing sollar and slide knob or Lock will fit all doors 1 3 8 to 1 3 4 engages with latch prongs and in side lever off spindle 35mm 45mm thick retractor interlocks with latch tail b Depress spring attached to inside rose Insert nail end of wrench into slot to remove inside rose plate Remove inside rose and mounting plate CENTRE LINE 8 INSTALL INSIDE ROSE 9 INSTALLATION OF INSIDE KNOB OR INSIDE LEVER Tighten machine screws securely to install To install inside lever press down the lever mounting plate Press rose onto mounting plate catch in the hole with wrench and push inside Be sure to fit rose in recess of mounting plate lever all the way ih until catch clicks into catch hole LUG IMPORTANT Align lug on knob with narrow slot on side of spindle and push knob all the way in until knob catch clicks into slot on knob Otherwise knob will jamb on shaft 11 IN ORDER TO ADJUST THE ABNORMAL STATE OF THE KEY HOLE FACING UPWARD THE KNOB MUST BE PULLED OUT AND INSTALLED AGAIN THE METHOD OF INSTALLATION iS DESCRIBED AS BELOW D Upon installation of the lock it may happen that key h
