1. 4 To adjust the fan motor ON OFF point rotate the Set Point knob in the proper direction for your heating or cooling application until the fan motor switches ON then slightly turn the control knob in the opposite direction until the fan motor stops DO NOT FORCE FOR HEATING a Position the Function switch to Auto HEAT FOR COOLING a Position the Function switch to Auto COOL STEP ONE Turn counterclockwise until fan motor runs aN D Turn clockwise until fan motor runs Toa STEP TWO Turn clockwise to the point where the fan motor just stops lw Turn counterclockwise to the point where the fan motor just stops K IMPORTANT NOTE To shorten the length of time that your Equalizer EQ2 Register Booster continues to run after the forced air furnace or air conditioner has shut off rotate the Set Point knob control slightly further as in Step Two Should you experience frequent On Off cycling move the Sensitivity Differential switch to the MAX position SO O Ilq SNOJ OO Ig sosoinby S9 OH I0 Id IMPORTANT WARNINGS Your Equalizer EQ2 will be as warm as the air that is delivered from the register of your forced air furnace and or cooling system The maximum temperature for a register is 140 Fahrenheit or 60 Centigrade Your Equalizer EQ2 should never be exposed to higher temperatures or temperatures below freezing Do not in any way block the air grills of the Equalizer EQ2 Unplug the E2. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE EQUALIZER EQ2 REGISTER BOOSTER READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT NOTICE With the use of any electrical appliance it is important to observe all basic precautions to minimize the risk associated with use such as electrical shock fire or injury to persons Read these instructions before using your Equalizer EQ2 Register Booster NEVER EXPOSE YOUR EQUALIZER EQ2 TO TEMPERATURES OVER 140 F 60 C INSTALLATION FLOOR REGISTERS 1 Position the Equalizer EQ2 over any 6 x 12 or smaller register 2 Plug the power cord into the nearest 120 Volt AC outlet 3 Follow the directions for Operation Settings 7 16 ALLOW SCREW WALL REGISTERS TO PROJECT 1a Installing over an existing register grill see figure 1 Using the template mark the screw hole positions and then install two 6 screws not included into the top frame of the register grill Leave 7 16 of the screw protruding 1b Installing over a register boot without a register grill see figure 2 Using the template mark the screw hole positions and then install two 6 screws not included above the top edge of the register boot plastic expanding plugs may be needed Leave 7 16 of the screw protruding from the wall surface 2 Install the Equalizer EQ2 over the screws by placing the two evenly positioned keyhole slots over the screwheads Make sure the unit slips down over the screws 3 Plug the power cord into the n
3. a polarized outlet only one way If the plug does not fit into the outlet fully reverse the plug If it still does not fit contact a qualified electrician DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature If it is necessary to use an extension cord use a heavy duty cord with adequate wire size Pressure on the bottom or top grills of the Equalizer EQ2 may cause the fan impeller to contact these grills and damage the unit Do not use strong detergents or flammable liquids to clean the Equalizer EQ2 The housing of your Equalizer EQ2 is sealed at the factory THERE ARE NO SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE Attempting to open the housing will expose you to dangerous electricity may cause fire and will void any and all warranty To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock do not use the Equalizer with any solid state speed control device ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY Subject to the following limitations Suncourt Inc manufacturer warrants that the Equalizer EQ2 Register Booster will for 1 one year from date of original retail purchase but not exceeding two years from date of manufacture remain free from appearance of defects in workmanship or materials This warranty is subject to the following limitations a manufacturer s liability is limited to the replacement or repair of the unit as decided by the manufacturer b a defective unit must be returned prepaid with proof of purchase and c this warranty does not apply to defects resu
4. earest 120 Volt AC outlet Figure 1 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Figure 2 Before cleaning the Equalizer EQ2 Register Booster disconnect the power cord from the outlet Dust may be removed from the exterior surfaces using a soft cloth the round brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner or using a cloth that has been lightly moistened with water and a mild non abrasive detergent Dust accumulation in the interior of the unit may be removed by using the small round brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner or by attaching your vacuum cleaner hose to the blower side and blowing the dust out Accumulation of dust in the interior will be minimized by regular replacement of your furnace filter as recommended by the manufacturer 1 M 2 8 3 P EQ2 REGISTER ERS MIN Series 3 SENSITIVITY DIFFERENTIAL OPERATION SETTINGS Function switch selections OFF to stop operation ON for continuous running AUTO HEAT for automatic on off to boost warm air AUTO COOL for automatic on off to boost cool air The rotary Set Point knob selects the automatic on off temperature setting for both heating and cooling The Sensitivity Differential switch provides control over On Off cycling experienced on poorly performing registers jake sure your furnace is not running et the Sensitivity Differential switch to the MIN position ace the unit over the register and plug it in Set the Function switch to Auto Heat winter or Auto Cool summer
