1. E sea gull lighting IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS e Be sure the electricity to the system you are working on is turned off either the fuse removed or the circuit breaker set at off e Use of other manufacturers components will void warranty listing and create a potential safety hazard e f you are unclear as to how to proceed contact a qualified electrician e You don t need special tools to install this fixture e Be sure to follow the steps in the order given e Under no circumstances should a fixture be hung on house electrical wires nor should a swag type fixture be installed on a ceiling which contains a radiant type heating system e Read instructions carefully e Save these instructions BEFORE YOU BEGIN Carefully remove the fixture from the carton and check that all parts are included as shown in figure 1 and 2 Be careful not to misplace any of the screws or parts which are needed to install this fixture HOUSE GROUND WIRE UNIVERSAL GREEN MOUNTING GROUNDING BAR D SCREW G OUTLET BOX pn KO NIPPLE F FIGURE 1 Installation And Safety Instructions Line art shown may not exactly match the fixture enclosed However the installation instructions do apply to this fixture Fill in Item Number on Carton and File This Sheet For Future Reference ITEM HC 1429 112408 CLEANING To clean wipe fixture with a soft cloth Clean glass with a mild soap Do not use abrasive materials s2. e green grounding screw G to secure NEVER CONNECT GROUND WIRE TO BLACK OR WHITE POWER SUPPLY WIRES GREEN GROUNDING SCREW G NIPPLE F FINAL ASSEMBLY Make sure no bare wires can be seen outside wire connectors Make sure no bare wires can be seen outside wire connectors After wires are connected tuck them carefully inside outlet box Push the fixture firmly over the nipple F and against the wall Secure canopy I in place by threading cap nut onto nipple F STEP 6 Place shade A on socket cup B and secure by threading retaining ring C onto socket Install lamps not supplied FIXTURE GROUND WIRE H RETAINING RING C gt M NOT INCLUDED
3. uch as scouring pads or powders steel wool or abrasive paper ORDERING PARTS Keep this sheet for future reference and in case you need to order replacement parts Parts for this fixture can be ordered from place of purchase Be sure to use exact wording from illustration when ordering parts INSTALLATION Thread nut E on to nipple F so five threads are exposed past nut E Thread this end of nipple F into universal mounting bar D and tighten nut E to secure Using outlet box screws not supplied fasten universal mounting bar D to outlet box through slots in universal mounting bar D FIXTURE GROUND WIRE H OUTLET BOX SCREWS NOT INCLUDED INSTALLATION continued HC 1429 STEP 3 A Use a listed wire connector to connect the fixture hot wire black wire or round and smooth tracer to the supply hot wire B Use a listed wire connector to connect the fixture common wire white wire or square and rigid to the supply common wire C Gently try to remove the wires from the connector If you can remove the wires carefully re do the wiring connection GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS The green grounding screw G is to be inserted into the hole with two raised dimples provided on the universal mounting bar D Wrap the fixture ground wire H and the ground wire from the outlet box bare metal or green insulated wire around the green grounding screw G on the universal mounting bar D and tighten th
