6. e noises e The high efficiency compressor may make a pulsating or high pitched sound e Water running from the evaporator to the water reservoir may make a splashing sound e s each cycle ends you may hear a gurgling sound due to the refrigerant flowing in your ice maker e You may hear air being forced over the condenser by the condenser fan e During the harvest cycle you may hear the sound of ice cubes falling into the ice basket POWER FAILURE Most power failures are corrected within a few hours and should not affect the temperature of your ice maker if you minimize the number of times the ice maker cover is opened If the power is going to be OFF for a longer peri od of time you need to take the proper steps to disconnect your appliance Failure to unplug the ice maker could result in electrical shock or personal injury DRAINING YOUR ICE MAKER Follow the steps below to drain the unit 1 Carefully move the unit towards a sink or other suitable location for draining 2 Remove the drain cap and rubber drain plug located at the left side N of the ice maker to access the drain Drain cap and Ni NOTE An additional rubber drain plug is included as a spare part rubber drain 3 Let the water drain from the drain plug plug 4 Firmly install the rubber drain plug into the drain port u WARNING Do not tip the unit over while there is water in the res ervoir CLEANING YOUR ICE MAKER OUTSIDE The outside of the ice maker s
7. he ice e Amount of water in the reser voir is insufficient e No water in the reservoir e When the unit is first started em may not be flowing to all freezing bars e Ice Full sensor is obstructed e Build up form on the sensor e Refrigerant leaks sealed sys tem is blocked e Stop the ice maker and do not restart until the voltage is normal e Press the ON OFF button to shut off fill with water wait for 3 minutes and press the ON OFF button again to restart e Remove some of the ice e Replace fuse turn power on e Stop the machine and reset the ice making cycle e Restart the machine after turning it off e This is normal e Make sure that water is at MAX level be fore using the portable ice maker e Run the unit for a couple more cycles and all bars should be frozen e Make sure that there are no obstruction or objects aligned with the ice full sensor e Remove the ice cubes from the ice basket and close the lid e Use a mild vinegar solution to clean the sensor e Contact Whynter Service Department ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY This WHYNTER Portable Ice Maker is warranted to the original owner within the 48 continental states for one year from the date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service Should your WHYNTER Portable Ice Maker prove defective within one year from the date of purchase return the defective part or appliance freight prepaid within two mon
8. hould be cleaned regularly with a mild detergent solution warm water and use a soft cloth to wipe Do not use rough cloth to avoid scratching or damaging the surface of the unit INTERIOR 1 Unplug the unit 2 Remove the ice basket 3 Wipe and dry the interior with a soft and clean cloth 4 When the machine is not in use for a long time open the drain plug to drain water completely from water reser voir 4 Install the drain plug and tighten the drain cap NOTE When using the unit for the first time or an extended break from use it is recommended to discard the first couple batches of ice TROUBLESHOOTING Problem e The compressor works ab normally with a buzzing noise e Water indicator light is on e Ice full indicator light is on e Window Se or indicator lights are off e The ice made is too large and with pieces sticking to gether e Ice appears cloudy e Not all freezing bars makes ice e Ice full indicator is on but ice is not full e Conditions for ice making cycle are right but no ice is made Possible Causes e The voltage is lower than rec ommended e There is not enough water in the reservoir e Ice basket is full to the top e Blown fuse no power blown breaker e The water temperature in the ae ae tray or ambient is too ow e Due to fast freezing or the water quality ice cubes may appear paige this is e trapped air in water and does not affect the taste or quality of t
9. nd sealed system e The Ice maker should be placed horizontally on a properly leveled surface e To ensure proper ventilation for your Ice maker allow 6 of space at the back and on each side e Before using the Ice maker for the first time please wait 4 hours after positioning it e Clean the ice shovel ice basket water reservoir and ice scoop frequently OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1 Make sure that the ice maker is turned off Open the top cover and remove the ice basket Remove any dust or objects that may be in the water reservoir Fill the water reservoir up to the line marked V Fill with potable or drinking water only Turn the unit on by pressing the Power button Select desired ice cube size by pressing the Size Selector Small Medium or Large na a SON Water will be pumped from the water reservoir to the water tray under the freezing bars The freezing bars will start freezing Once the freezing process is complete the freezing bars will heat up to drop the ice cubes Then the ice shovel will push the ice cubes down to the ice basket 8 When the unit is used for the first time discard the first couple batches of ice 9 The ice maker will automatically check the water level in the reservoir periodically and will stop the ice making cycle when the ice maker detects any shortage of water The water indicator will then start flashing Press the ON OFF button to turn off the unit and fill the reservoir with water Press
10. t or flattened Do not tamper with controls Make sure the power plug is placed fully and firm into the wall socket If the wall receptacle you intend to use is not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker have a qualified electrician install an outlet that is appropriate to local electrical codes and requirements Do not use multiple socket or of an extension cord as it may overheat and become a risk of fire Make sure the power plug is clean before usage Do not turn this appliance on and off by plugging and unplugging Always use the ON OFF switch After turning the appliance off please take the power plug out of the socket Make sure hands are dry when connecting the power plug The appliance is equipped with a three prong grounded power plug on the power cord for your protection Never modify remove or attempt to repair the power plug yourself Do not repair disassemble and or modify the appliance by yourself Transport the appliance in an upright position only or leave it in an upright position for at least 4 hours before first use When positioning or moving the appliance ensure that it is not turned upside down or greater than 45 or more off level Extreme caution must be used when moving or lifting the appliance utilize handles and do not lift from the base of the unit to avoid injury This appliance must be installed in an area protected from the elements such as wind rain water spray or drips When using this appli
11. the ON OFF button again to re start the ice making cycle or wait 3 minutes after the water indicator stops flashing as the ice maker will begin it s normal operation cycle automatically 10 When the ice cubes reach the ice full sensor the ice maker will stop operating and the ICE FULL indicator will be displayed 11 Change water in the water reservoir every 24 hours to ensure a reasonable hygiene level If unit is not in use drain all water left in the water reservoir e NOTE This ice maker produces 9 ice cubes every cycle of 10 to 15 minutes approximately de pending on the size of cube is selected When the ambient temperature is lower than 59 F the small ice cube size is recommended to avoid ice cubes clumping together For best performance water tempera ture should be between 55 F and 85 F and ambient temperature between 65 F and 77 F e NOTE The ice basket does not keep the ice cubes frozen The ice in the basket will slowly melt and the water will drip to the water reservoir and reused INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS NORMAL SOUNDS Your new ice maker may make sounds that are not familiar to you Hard surfaces like the floor and walls can make the sounds seem louder than they actually are The following describes the kinds of sounds that might be new to you and what may be making them e Ratting noises may come from the flow of the refrigerant or the water line items stored on top of the ice maker can also mak
